Thread: The Chance Annihilation Ends in Catastrophe...11 Feb 2015, 09:11 AM When Wehrmacht tries to base stomp with two Tigers and an Ostwind while a badly damaged IS-2 gets impromptu repairs in the FoW. Wehrmacht Vehicles destroyed in this game - 2 222s, 1 Ostwind and 4 (well, 3 technically) Tigers Soviet Vehicles destroyed in this game - 1 Tiger Game features plenty of attack move noobness on both sides (A-Move snipers ftw), poorly positioned Zis-S, goofy vehicle escapes, clutch AT nades, MLG LMG blobs, silly tank battles and a burning desire to destroy my f#*^cking base and retreating units. Thread: How DOTA became a successful esport4 Feb 2015, 04:09 AM I typed a lovely essay on this a little earlier, but my internet went out as I was editing and my responses to a few of you were lost. My main point was that I believe CoH2 is not as successful as the top DOTAs out there currently not because those DOTAs are "F2P", but because they are more accessible. What I mean by this is that the SysReqs are not as demanding as CoH2's, the learning curve isn't as high, it's a genre that's been around for a long while and that more people are generally interested in (While the CoH franchises' take on RTS is somewhat new), divisions and leagues to determine overall skill WITHIN the game etc. etc... I can go on. Saying that CoH2's shortfall in having the following that LoL and Dota2 have was that it is not F2P is silly. If CoH2 was F2P it still would not have the following those games have, because it just isn't as accessible. In: Scrap Yard

You can say that DOTA is "f2p", but in reality most players make some sort of transaction involving any popular DOTA. In LoL, it's skins and champions, or experience boosts. In DOTA2, it's items that add a cosmetic difference to one or more of your champions. When COH2 goes on sale (Like it had 3 seperate times during the Holiday season last year), it's cost is comparative to the cost of a couple champions, skins, or in DOTA2's case, items. So this statement is fucking dumb (just like your avatar) and makes very little sense. I think most people who were there in the early days of vCoH will remember a very similar instance of balance issues like there is currently with CoH2. Over time those issues were more or less ironed out and as a result a much more balanced game emerged. I'd like to think that something similar will happen with CoH2, and I think it's reasonable to assume that this will be the case. In: Scrap Yard
