I really think Ost is fine from a Soviet perspective. OKW just seems out of line |
Yay so that mean we have 4 broken factions with shitty meta and a boring game which is probaly still broken because some new problems will appear because of senseless nerfs. just because you guys wanted the lazy-ass method.
GG WP guys
It is unlikely that any huge structural change will come in the near-future. Best put a bandaid solution until long-term fixes are finished |
I still don't buy this nonsense of far more people playing axis just because they "prefer" it. True, they obviously do prefer it, but why?
Sure Axis are more linear, they have some sexy units, they look cooler, they have better dialogue (I honestly read this as an excuse why a player uses axis only!) etc etc. but the top and bottom of it is no one plays to lose. No one.
If a faction is heavily under used it's more than likely it's because players are finding it harder to win with them (or easier to win with the opposite faction). Again, the reasons WHY it's easier to win with one faction over another are numerous, but the point is people don't play to lose and Relic need to look at WHY people are struggling to win with allies above all else and try to fix that rather than adding further complications into the mix or sweetners to get player to reluctantly and temporarily switch sides.
For my money, all that will happen with the OP's proposal would be players would play 1x match as Axis automatch, one quick comp stomp as Allies then back to automatch as Axis again and getting their war spoils for the effort, not actually doing anything to improve faction balance at all.
Besides, if all they want is a "quick" fix for the current imbalance in player faction numbers in automatch, all they need to do is allow mixed faction teams.
Not very helpful when I read it back lol
Yes i agree that people play to win. Saying that these ridiculous numbers exist simply because people "prefer" axis is nonsense and ridiculous. The annoying part of it, is that players have caught on that Axis have an advantage in team games. This skews the numbers even harder.
I agree with you that it has to do with Allied faction's playstyle or design that is turning off players. |
Hmm if balance is supposed to trickle upwards, then it probably is messed up at the 1v1 and 2v2 levels. Problems probably multiply when larger game modes are involved.
THe weird thing is, the game seems fairly balanced at the 1v1 and 2v2 level (looking at the W/L ratios, but is extremely unbalanced at the 3v3 and 4v4 levels judging by the massive OKW and Ost win rates. My guess is that it has to with how the 4v4 and 3v3 maps are designed. |
I'd prefer a nerf of OKW rather than buff of all other factions. SImplest solution (although may have repercussions). Buffing three factions takes a lot of work, plus it could lead to power creep |
No offense, but yhis sounds like you just got raped in a game or something
He made a similar post several weeks ago so I don't think it is because he got destroyed. Plus, the recent surge of "fix 4v4" threads make it clear that there are severe issues with 4v4 and 3v3.
Because from what I understand, the idea should be something like five or six T34s vs a single King Tiger. But in Team games it seems that the game just ends up being five T34s vs four King Tigers. The fuel should only allow one super heavy, so the US/Sov side can actually counter with strength in numbers
Well theoretically I am guessing it is supposed to be like that, and in some ways it is. Allies can build a critical mass of tanks sooner due to lower fuel costs. However, this advantage is quickly wiped out by superior Axis AT capabilities such as Schrecks, AT Guns, Tanks, etc.

They should definitely fix the bugs and the most glaring balance issues such as Kubel. Although I love 4v4 mode, they need to get ready the game for the ESL. |
Don't wanna turn this into why SU-100 is needed thread but the SU85 isn't that good once the Tigers, KT, and Jagdtigers hit the field. If you didn't choose a commander with the IS2 or ISU, you basically are a dead duck |
This is just brilliant.
Hey, lets reverse last ISU nerfs, telling people who cry(you among many of them) to adapt and call it a day!
Also, give Kubel 10-15 fuel cost and we can talk about adapting.
Hahahaha +1
Kubel is a pain in the ass to counter in team games. I am not sure how to fix it but it is very crippling. It can quickly zoom to a VP/fuel point and basically hold it with Sturmpio help. It is actually fairly difficult to flank as a Soviet player because Sturmpios always support the wagon. |
I am absolutely sure Relic will not add new nondoctrinal units or remake old ones.
Yes I agree unfortunately. It would be admitting that they went wrong somewhere. Game companies rarely admit that they messed up |
