At least make it spammable. Getting more than 2 is a liability when you can save up for a call-in |
Well we already have amazing infantry DPS. We don't need Maxim because we have stuff that deals a lot of damage. I voted MG42 because of its high suppression. This will make our infantry units have more time to pwn the enemy |
You know you can instantly turn off focus sight unless you just activated it? You can have it on constantly sniping enemies from max range and turn it off to back away at any sign of danger.
uhh ive used the ISU countless numbers of time and you cannot instantly turn ff the focus sight. It may be a bug but once you turn it on, you can't instantly turn it off. |
If AA was of superb quaity and replayability like Rome Total War or something, then it might b justified. However, many details are probably locked behind an NDA, so players are rightly skeptical.
I understand where you are coming from Napalm, but it is hard for some of us to cease or cynical behavior and attitude. |
Maxim spam is pretty terribad. I prefer penal spam nowadays into either partisans + T3, or guards + T3/4.
I honestly feel like relic kinda had a cool Idea going for soviets early on in design (ie restricted teching but best units at their jobs), but that this design faltered when the nerfs came to su85, t34, and general tech costs. I still remember the beta where soviets had t34s that could do extremely good AI, at the cost of AT while su85s could be used in a supporting role for AT.
??? Tell me more |
Would it be better if the ISU functioned as an artillery piece that you lock onto an area or target? (similar to the B-4) So you, for example, give it a range of 100 and a barrage thing, and then you say have a 50 range direct fire which locks onto the target and blazes away until out of sight or destroyed and then has say, a 7 second cooldown until you can target it again.
This would prevent you just parking an ISU on the otherside of the map and leaving it to fire and gives it some interesting micro options and prevents as much arbitrary shooting so that the player has to target it with their own micro. Perhaps a 2 second wind up prior to the first shot and the normal reload after that. I'd recommend though that given the inflexible nature of the system at some points, the 152mm should be heavily buffed vs tanks...
Interesting change. I would definitely be down to try this out |
IMO it is not the range issue. You already have long range units like Jackson and SU85 that aren't really OP. The ISU just squad wipes a lot. It is a tough balancing act. THe ISU is basically a gigantic howitzer on treads. Some AOE adjustments could make it work, but i do not agree with the current beta change. |
I'm inclined to disagree that the ISU should have been left alone, but on the other hand, it appears another of the tiny amount of units the Soviets had available to counter heavy German armour has now disappeared...
I agree Marco. It is the only real counter to heavy armor the USSR have. It was squad wiping a lot so i did agree that it needed ot be changed. However, i feel that this beta change is a lazy way to add "micro" to a unit |
Yeah i dont like t now. Feels clunky |

SOviet SHock Army (Good for aggressive play)
Shock Rifle (very popular choice with Incediary Arty, SHocks, IS2 and KV8)
Mechanized Support (Guards, Bombing Run, Mark Target, ISU)
Shock Motor (Shocks, ISU)
Counterattack (B4, Shocks, KV1)
Urban Defense (Forward HQ is good on some maps)
