Funny thing that all the allies players complain about OKW being buffed all the time while the axis players complain about OKW being nerfed all the time except the last patch.
That's the craziest thing about it - we all paid for both factions anyway so an allegiance to either faction is ridiculous. In the end balance between both factions is beneficial to all players and should be expected. Players who are militantly one sided, either way, are causing more harm to the community by clouding the waters than the unbalanced patches themselves! |
I still get this all the time, it's usually following an unexpected shut down of a match, crash or recent patch. |
Nice to see you back,Boxman
I can see you have hardly played recently - if this was bcs you had certain observations upon the current/past state of the game,it might assist if you said so,where appropriate, (without ofc becoming a zealot )
Hi, not sure if I'm the same Boxman you may think I am - I remember there being a quite prolific yankee guy who had a bit of a mouth who played in some clan (maybe Ragequit?) back on CoHO. People were always confusing me with him.... But yea only got CoH2 a few month back after many years of vCoH and a a spell onthe short lived CoHo. I have mostly been playing custom PvP games against the other lads in BSB, but yea we're all a bit apprehensive about playing auto-matches at the moment due to some imbalance issues, especially in 3v3 & 4v4 games. |
Agreed, at present the OBK are fantastic in larger team games and I don;t believe it's just late game - they seem to be more than capable at all tiers of the game, in fact I think in team games they are particularly difficult early game too with their Kubels and sturm-pios (I actually think sturm pios were much better balanced last patch thought to be fair)!
As suggested on a recent thread and earlier in this one, Relic needs to strongly think about imposing some more balanced multipliers/penalties to BOTH factions for balance in 3/4-a-side games. |
I voted Soviet marines in the hope of the allies getting some sort of decent anti-tank infantry and something comparable to the legions of cool and quality Axis infantry (seriously love nearly all the Axis infantry!).
However upon reflection I think they could probably just replace/improve the penal brigades with an AT option as at the moment they seem to be a strange unit that doesnt seem to justify the extra cost over having more and quicker conscripts. Also they are no where near as useful mid-game as their cheaper conscript counter-part. |
I still don't buy this nonsense of far more people playing axis just because they "prefer" it. True, they obviously do prefer it, but why?
Sure Axis are more linear, they have some sexy units, they look cooler, they have better dialogue (I honestly read this as an excuse why a player uses axis only!) etc etc. but the top and bottom of it is no one plays to lose. No one.
If a faction is heavily under used it's more than likely it's because players are finding it harder to win with them (or easier to win with the opposite faction). Again, the reasons WHY it's easier to win with one faction over another are numerous, but the point is people don't play to lose and Relic need to look at WHY people are struggling to win with allies above all else and try to fix that rather than adding further complications into the mix or sweetners to get player to reluctantly and temporarily switch sides.
For my money, all that will happen with the OP's proposal would be players would play 1x match as Axis automatch, one quick comp stomp as Allies then back to automatch as Axis again and getting their war spoils for the effort, not actually doing anything to improve faction balance at all.
Besides, if all they want is a "quick" fix for the current imbalance in player faction numbers in automatch, all they need to do is allow mixed faction teams.
Not very helpful when I read it back lol |
I never understand why 3v3 and 4v4 are written of as "unfixable", these modes are half the game (probably more in real terms) and should be balanced even if it's just in the way of restrictions or multiplier bonuses that only apply during these sized games.
Sure 1v1's and 2v2's are great personal challenges and a good way to lord it over players (when you're half decent) but writing larger games off in the current way is unacceptable, especially in this day and age. |
AvNY has made many great points. Well done sir.
Also loved this:
Well, it does sound truer, with all those big letters.
Nice |
The core issue here isnt the kubel its self, its usf unit structure. you notice no has a issue with the kubel when playing as soviets, as there are plenty of options to counter the kubel. USF T1 needs more than just riflemen. Maybe add a scout jeep like coh or move the m20 and put a higher price tag like 35-45 fuel.
Any ways I just think that just being able to build rifles is fucking stupid while your opponent can build a rang of AT, support and Infantry units and this is the core problem in my a pinion
I probably just need to L2P but I have problems with it as Soviets as well - it takes far too much time and usually combined arms of more than one unit to deal with a single Kuble, and that's not including the inevitable SPERM-Pios that are always lurking around it!
I agree though the main issue is the USF's inability to produce anything but the RE and Riflemen. What happened to the scout jeepwith it's 50 cal? Maybe even introduce a new light vehilce there? |
Hi fella, we have group of us within our community playing regularly at all times of the day and night that you would be most welcome to join. We're the BSB Network, running as a group since 2002, based largely in the UK (Northeast England) but with other international members.
We've played all the games in the CoH series but have players at different levels of experience and we tend to mix teams and factions up a lot too. We also have an internal 1v1 ladder set up and regularly play mini-events.
Anyone is welcome to join our custom CoH2 games, no obligation to join us, all we ask is you play fair and have a bit of common sense.
We have our own website and Teamspeak server that helps iwth organising and comms, so if you fancy it check out the website and join our TS server whenever you are up for a game matey. Website should be in my signature.
If not, no hard feelings and hope you enjoy the game. |
