The amount of dedication, efforts and time we put into analyzing and discussing specific details about this game amaze me. Not to mention all the antagonism and drama, lol.
Compared to other game's communities *cough*starcraft*cough*, this is one of the better ones. |
Not really, the only Axis howitzer sucks because it was nerfed into the ground. It originally was quite good.
All factions should have the same tools open to them, USF not getting heavy tanks is dumb, OKW not having artillery or mediums is dumb, Soviets having crap stock units is dumb.
Factions shouldn't have abitrary weakness's players can do nothing about, because it means the game becomes a match of rock paper scissors with one faction always beating another but being beat by a separate faction; which isn't fun.
Not with the fuel penalty.
Are you seriously implying the Sturmtiger is an artillery piece? I'm pretty much the only one who uses it because it's probably one of if not the hardest unit to micro in the game.
Exactly, commanders are for giving you units/and or abilities that your faction usually lacks. Good examples, OKW lacks medium tanks, Elite Armored gives you Pz4 Battlegroup and Infantry Company for USF provides mortar unit with the half track and gives you access to LMGs. |
Anyone ever considered that casters are of more worth to Relic casting than they would be in the Alpha. After all, they cant do both at once.
Maybe Relic wants as many people who will concentrate on the Alpha as possible. Just a thought.
Or, it could just be random They never got down to the details of what exactly they were looking for which frustrated people. I do believe them saying they took the application process seriously, but I have something in the back of my mind that tells me RNG was involved in some way. As for casters I can see where they're coming from. They provide free advertisement, but it doesn't necessarily mean they should get an automatic bid. But it would be nice if Relic did give guaranteed alpha access to outstanding members of the community or set aside like ten slots or so and have alpha access as the reward for some sort of community contest. Something like an fan art contest or a small bracket tournament. |
In gameplay terms, I'd like to see something more along the lines of OH, meaning decidedly uncheesy, linear tech, however, unlike OH, progressive tech should be more realistically archievable which would also serve to provide the variety.
As for units, well, standard stuff, Rifle sections, Piat teams, Vickers, 3 Inch Mortars, 6 Pdrs, Croms, Stuarts, Staghounds, Firefly/Achilles, 25 Pdr onmap, doctrinal Comet, Paras or Commandos for call-in flavour or what have you, FFI, Ghurkas, the options are endless. Just resist the temptation to go for the very excentric, OKW was bad enough....
You pretty much summed it up, with all the nations that the Commonwealth consists of, the options are limitless. |
Stuka is not as reliable as other On the map options, it is much easier to dodge as it is always in a direct line, hell even on the line if it scatters bad it can miss on its own, even if aimed correctly. - Don't bring the incendi barrage in to it, very rarely do you get it in a game unless you kill some Scott's or a Jackson or two.
The Katy and Werfer usually hit something with at least one rocket, and their scatter is actually good for them.
OKW has the worst Anti-blob options in the entire game. Their best Options are Sturmtiger/Stuka which are very easy to bait and dodge, or the King Tiger.
Other mentions are Flak track and Luchs, but these cannot be used late game as they die to a stiff breeze. Hummel would be nice because it would provide better less predictable artillery support, something that is less easily avoidable. Draw back for the Hummel would be it is slow as hell and can't escape from an allied rush easily. |
Taking a moment to glance over it again, you are right. I picked up your 'some people' as 'more people', which changes the whole implication of the sentence from neutral to hugely one sided.
My bad, old chap. Carry on.
It's all good man. |
'People are biased so the poll shows results I don't agree with. If unbiased people were voting my opinion would be reflected by the community as a whole'
Good job.
When did I say I don't support what the poll shows? I agree with what it shows so far, you have to take into consideration biased opinions will take up a small percentage of each category. More unbiased opinions would be a welcome as they would be less tainted opinions on the subject matter. Don't start shit where none exists. Ok? |
The problem is some of the opinions are biased. Some people that got in vote "no" because they they feel special and don't want the inclusion of more people then there are those who vote "yes" because they didn't get in. Need more unbiased people to provide feedback. |
The quote is literally 48 hours old.
If my memory serves me right, there was no WFA alpha within last 48 hours.
"Things can possibly change." Sounds like a chance to me.
If my memory serves me right, I was the one that asked the question on the CoH.com forums. |

They said that about WFA alpha, doesn't mean there is going to be more waves but there is a possibility. To be honest it would surprise me if they didn't just based on the demand. |
