You'll need more practice with Reco but it feasible. I'll say try both many times and your answer will probably be more map dependent than faction.
Mechanized is good for the WC51 if you face OKW, a bit more tricking vs Ostheer and only on open may such as Moscow or farmland. The Truck is a good asset but you must micro it well to not lose, reinforcing on any territory is a really good ability that can turn tides. The barrage is good, I really like it and usually use it to finish OKW strutures with a Sherman, you need to take down 1/3 of the struture life before calling the barrage.
Reco is good for the IR&Pathfinder and those are good in map with a lot of cover as they have camouflage on cover + cease fire, putting them on the good spot let you see a big chunk of the map. The M8 let you delay your teching, you can unlock BAR and the ambulance and still have a reliable vehicle to deal damage and take some hits. Beware that your friend must have a AEC to counter Luch rushes.
IR&Pathfinder can also call artillery barrage on the fog of war which is an underrated ability.
You need to make some test yourself but the last time I used them vs OKW, two arty barrages took down the OKW T3, I don't know how much damage one barrage deal exactly to a full healed structure. It will be up to you to damage it enough and then call the arty barrage on it to finish it off.
From memory, the IR&P barrage is stronger than the mechanized one.
Of course, vs Jagt or kt or elefant, the result is the same. Good luck jim. |

Simply things like pop, minimum range for AT grenades and sight changes can be made.
Things like DPS or FHP need to be comparable to base unit (mainline infantry grenadiers). So one has to set that level first and then bother with the PF, that is minor issue imo.
Actually the balance has to start from infantry units that are available before minute 1, one vs the other, (which includes grenadiers, Tommies, Penals, riflemen, Vgs and conscripts) and then fix all other units accordingly.

Relic has been a publisher puppet ever since OF development and release. They want money and quite frankly, a new AoE will milk more money for them than CoH2 will from now on. The fact that M$ wants to release it on Windows 10 only and Windows Store only means that Relic will get some risk money as well, since the Microsoft store is flawed and even M$ knows it.

Sure. If you compare raw damage and raw perfomance in perfect situation, without any other factors, then yes stuka is supperior. But thouse tests prove nothing, because damage is not the only important thing.

I find it too cost effective.
I also find the lighting commander too strong in 1vs1. G43 allows delayed t2, Tiger is one of the few viable option for Ostheer and Stuka allows the Tiger to fight back even when swarmed.
On the other hand given the current state of Ostheer, imo the issue is less important (than the performance of loitering planes across the modes).
Read my post from start, you will get a bigger picture. The P47 "Job it is designed to do" is not a one button hard counter to axis super heavy tanks that would nullify them.
As I have explained I have played the game when P47 was devastating and the game was ugly.
And once again loitering planes do not need simple changes but an overhaul. Their performance is very inconstant across modes.
And finally once more making abilities identical does necessarily promotes balance since each faction is designed to different strength and weakness (and off-maps is one of this design characteristics.) For instance giving soviet the power UKF off map abilities would make them OP.
