I've actually found that with USF, the 1v1 gameplay hasn't changed too much. In a 1v1, you usually have plenty of flanking routes to exploit, and can do well without being forced into particular builds.

2v2s on the other hand are a lot harder vs. Double ost. Best thing to do is vetoed mg maps like crossing and minsk. Infantry company, rifle company, and recon company seem to be the best for obvious reasons.

UnfortUnfortUnfortunatly, indirect fire is the name of the game, and USF will suffer a hefty micro tax until something is done to alleviate this design gap.

Haven't had a chance to play much, but I played a few 1s after patch and found that the 2nd RE start is good, especially to rush up to key "enemy" buildings and grab them before mgs arrive, and then use the REs to hold the line until my riflemen can take over. I then used my low health RE squads to cap territory while my rifles garrisoned the key buildings.

I've personally found infantry company to shine this patch. LT -> M20 -> MHT -> .50 (to cap building) -> AMBU -> MJR. Lategame, 1 Scott + 1 Jackson seems to be a good armored force, since the majority of my army will be tied up in infantry.

The Mortar Halftrack let me skip grenades, and the aggressive opener forced my opponents to get mortars and also delayed their aquisition of territory. This strategy works with the captain as well, but I find that the forward retreat point is integral. If you lose territory, it becomes a bitch to recapture.

I've also been thinking of maybe an armor company build with 2 RE, 1-2 AE, 3 RM and spam defenses and mines all over the map early on. Haven't tested it, but wire and later tank traps all over the map will restrict enemy movement, and allow .50s to hold territory and make mgs useless. Will probably need an early AMBU and maybe forgo rifles for fighting positions.

I'm not seeing any reason not to give USF a mortar. Forcing players to tech grenades every game (which delay tech and heavily delay weapon upgrades) makes USF early game even more stale than it has been. I would love to see a mortar for USF in tier0. It would give USF a viable counter to HMG spam and would also give USF an actual choice in the early game.

I think that people should not talk about factions until they have played at least a few games with them recently. Talking about a faction because you fight them a lot will give you a biased view.

If I played nothing but USF in 2v2, I could come to the conclusion that X unit/army is OP because it always beats me, when in reality it could seem so because my enemy is out-microing me or taking advantage of my weakness.

You can have a favorite faction (Mine is USF), but your personal bias should never get in the way of you playing other factions. You should also never be refusing to buff an underpowered unit purely because you will never use it or the faction it is in, and thus want to keep it weak.

These are simple guidlines that I go by, and I think that many forum users would do themselves some good by following them.

They fixed it like 2 patches ago, its not bugged anymore. Its exactly how it was at WFA-launch.
