Does the Osttruppen commander have any value these days? What about Storm or German Mechanized? |
Damn that KT! |
I've come to think that ambushes and traps, for example by baiting with vehicles, can be a really effective tactic. More importantly, I like doing it.
So, any advice on maximizing the impact and effect of these?
Such as, units, doctrines, hell even factions, specially suited to it? |
After watching this, I gotta say.. Spotting Scopes are awesome! |
From what I'm seeing in the replays section, the forums, Propagandacast etc. OKW is not just underpowered, but subject to ton of shitty tactics, including but not limitted to Maxim-spam, Sniper-spam, Guards-spam, Riflemen+Easy Eight-spam, M8 Greyhound-spam...
So yeah, I'd like to hear the opinions.. Is it worth playing OKW in a "having fun and improving my skill"-way? |
Much like SlaYoU, I'm disgusted by this thread. I'm not going to call the measures mentioned here exploits, but they are lame.
I guess the game's still not easy enough for the Allies. |
Was he mistaking the offmap barrage (which was absolutely amazing btw, and arguably worth the 300 munitions) for a Stuka zu Fuss strike?
There's no help for that guy, then. |
Thanks a lot CieZ for this strategy! I've tried it (with the deviation of buying grenades somewhere around my first Pathfinder squad since I find Smoke Nades to be incredibly useful) and so far, I like it a lot! It's been working like a charm for me, not counting problems caused by my shitty micro and macro.
Once, my Stuart and AT-gun won me the game right there as I was able to push for and destroy two of his base trucks, and my M2HB prevented his Volks to get into Schreck range of my Stuart.
I also find Airborne to be incredible once upgraded.
That being said, I recently acquired the Recon Support commander and wonder if it's possible to integrate it into this strategy- or if Recon Support is best left to 2v2 and up?
Also, on the topic of late game: You recommend getting two M8A1s and a Jackson, and while they're quite deadly, they're also rather fragile. Would Shermans be a viable alternative? (E.g. 2 Shermans, 1 M8/Jackson depending on what enemy shows) |
I'm a fan of Airborne- it lets me go Captain-first, and still acquire the MG, which is supremely useful when pushing for OKW trucks, or to prevent Schreck squads from closing with my Stuart, in addition to all the usual benefits of MGs.
Not to mention Pathfinders and Airborne both being quite nice. |
The bad gun is only part of the problem- there's also, as you mentioned, the fact it comes out somewhat too late to be useful, and more importantly:
It's completely redundant thanks to the availability of the M20 and the M5 Stuart, both of which have great and useful abilities themselves. |
