It is the RNG involved combined with no counterplay when you get hit by a mortar/arty shell that really stands out. Ost 4 man squads suffer the most. One lucky hit and your squad with vet and upgrades is gone. OKW is less prone to this thanks to Volx being 5 man squads. If you hit a 5-6 man Squad with a Mortar you will not wipe it unless the player ordered them in cover that let them bunch up. In: COH2 Balance

IS2 has higher chances of defeating a Tiger 1v1, but i would always choose a Pak40 + Tiger rather than a Zis + IS2. It's way more reliable to kill an AT gun with a Tiger rather than with an IS2. But you know that PaK has a 4 man squad and a zis a 6 man? In: COH2 Balance

But that could be wrong and is only my experience. It loses of course. There was a thread where tanks were put against other tanks and Tiger lost this matchup pretty badly. Who can do the average ttk math? I could but do not have the right stats. Coh2stats seems outdated. Furthermore the Main Problem is the is2 with combined arms vs Tiger with combined arms. Here the extra armor is even More significant and tips the battle. In: COH2 Balance
Thread: IS2 since rework to at nade pen is now op19 Dec 2014, 01:10 AM I do think the IS2 is overperforming for its cost. Every game vs Sovjets you just get steamrolled a move by Is2s ( bit exagerating). The pak now has an awful rof and it does not pen half of the time. It just has 400 (!) frontal armor with okish mobility. KT has just 25 more, but a teeeeerrible slow turret traverse and much higher cost considering OKWs fuel income. If you say reload time is higher than tiger then you gotta be kidding me. It is 1 second longer with more pen (250 to 220 tiger). Save for Ost having 4 man squads that get wiped down to 1-2 models constantly from just 1 shot ( if you target ground just inside the squads middle the accuracy is NOT that bad because it hits at least 1-2 models). Killing this thing as OST is almost impossible. Only advantage of Ostheer is the Panzerschreck , which is terrible nowadays because they cost a fortune while being on a 45 mp reinforce cost squad that loses almost all of it's ai power while equipping schrecks ( generally that is fine, but not in relation to heavy tank performance). Tellers are good but basically sovjet has almost the same with 2 mines in consecutive placement ( while these being also ai). Pak and PG nerf hit ost so damn hard they need to be tuned up and Is2 tuned down ( would like to see a slight buff to Pak rof and PGs in general and a cost increase and slight armor nerf to around 350). Relic please.... OKW though needs a change to their Schreckvolx with Obers. Very good handheld AT on a 5 man cheapass squad is just too much. Maybe that is why some people think IS2 is fine ( because it IS vs OKW). In: COH2 Balance
