Notice that KV2 with this doctrine would became really fearsome because of tank traps which would stop easy flanking and rushing to close minimum range of a siege mode. Great combination.
I did not put M42 changes becasue as much as we would like to see them, there are almost no chances for this.
I think you are giving too much credit to tank traps. USF gets them non doctrinal, and I only ever see them used as a replacement for sandbags green cover. Tank traps aren't that big of a game changer. |
That would be better than it is now, but I still think the doctrine would be shit. KV2 is pretty lackluster. I think a buff to the m-42 at gun along with these changes is needed. Some people were throwing around the idea of giving the M-42 the gun of a t-70 to provide some anti infantry power. Love that idea, would make me actually take this doctrine. |
Again, I 100% sure, that flare mine shouldn't have damage effects. It's totally wrong! For to deal damage USSR must use other mines, purpoused for that. I would look at "flare mines damage" like at nasty bug, which makes that ability better, but should be fixed anyway.
Nobody will use them even for 0 munitions... Too much efforts for random sight. Don't really worth it. And what about "Hit the dirt" for Vet 1? Would be nice, also.
So basically you are saying we should nerf them so nobody would ever use them again? Because other people find them useful and you don't, you want to drag everyone down to your level so they will replace it with something not shit. |

Soviet industry was just bad, not gamebreaking. It is still rather shit, and I would like to see it returned to a reworked version of its former self.
Troop training and elite riflemen were awful, they go against the fundamental gameplay of squad preservation and reward. I am glad they are gone. The veteran riflemen doctrine is still arguably the best USF doctrine (if you disagree, it's still top 3.) Stormtroopers are just bad themselves and need a change, they are bad in the encirclement doctrine too. |
And now some people clearly want the Tiger Ace (the "best" tank(!)) removed as well. Do you not feel that this incessant whining for removing unique features or units (or nerfing them into the ground) is making the gameplay much more bland?
The unit is okay, the problem is the pricing. The no fuel cost promotes poor gameplay, they can keep the unit unique while still costing fuel. |
The vet ability was disgusting, it completely goes against the basics of squad preservation and reward in this game.
The Tiger Ace does too. You shouldn't be able to wait for 4 minutes with no territory and be able to shit out the best tank in the game; in a 1v1 it doesn't matter if it cripples your economy after if it gives you the momentum to make the killing blow. No fuel cost lets you make 2 P4s before you bring out the super tiger, and if you kept them alive it doesn't even matter that your economy goes down the toilet, not like you were going to spend that fuel anyways at popcap. |
Trip wire flares are good, and I think it is fine on Cons and engis, but it's ridiculous that guards, shocktroops, and penals get trip wire flares too. Not enough variety in this game. Replace it with something more useful that fits the unit better. Likewise, they should change the capping point bonus on soviet tanks, and not every Ostheer squad should get healing thing either. |
The suppression works against grens if you catch them at close range on the move. You will suppress them before they kill you if they don't immediately go to cover. |
