How exactly can you explain that Penals are any better than mainline infantry?
Conscripts are freshly conscripted soldiers never having fought a day in their life, penals are veteran enough to have already been arrested after seeing some fighting. |

So, I starting to think, that after that patch people will not use conscripts as mainline infantry, or will use them way more rare. Penals will change them on that position, equiped with such firepower.

It depends on the map of course and how the layout is, but you are going to want one of four things if the opponent goes for strong light vehicle play:
- puma from mobile defense
- 2 paks
- a pak and a Schrecked pgren squad
- multiple scout cars
That is listed in about the order of usefulness. Of course you can get lucky with mines or one pak and hope to faust the light vehicles, but best to play it safe in an even game and not hope for your opponent messing up. Keep holding your side of the map with these until you get a medium out. These things will help you later in the game too so they are a good investment. If you are getting wrecked too hard by infantry and light vehicles go for the puma to have some immunity to infantry and a way to push back. |

So much whining and vitriol about changes that haven't been tested by 90% of the people posting, and are likely to be changed after beta testing.
Getting rid of schrecks on volks is fantastic, they were a cancer to gameplay. It will need some adjustments to bring the faction in line, but this is a great start. |
Stupid question... is this available in the modding hub to test? If so what's it called? I only see Miragefla's mod.

Never get the 5 man squad upgrade that early. You need all the manpower you can get spent on early field presence, because your infantry is so expensive. You want to wait until you atleast have t1 out and a solid infantry base. |

There is no reason to get bars on Rangers. You get rangers to be a close combat powerhouse, not another fancy 5 man rifle squad. |
