I wonder if this means they will also be switching to DX12 |
With the recent announcement of the brits as well as PCGamers suggestion for a f2p model for coh, it doesn't sound like that poor of an idea.
How would you feel if coh went f2p? The game is already looking like its being built for it but I want to hear your opinion on it. |

Just want to know the opinion on the commander, currently it has a lot of issues with it and relics attempts at fixing it don't seem like they did enough in my opinion.
If so, do you think it should be removed or reworked, let me and hopefully the devs know. |
Currently both of these tanks lack heavy crush leading to 2 HUGE issues as USF. The lack of heavy crush can cause these tanks to get stuck on carcasses of their own size as well as get stuck in one another if one tank out of two dies too close to the other. This leads to huge path finding issues that makes microing USF tanks frustrating and almost unbearable as they get caught on almost everything. While their lack of heavy crush is historicity accurate (Sherman cant run over panthers lol) its makes for a very frustrating experience as your tank spins in circles trying to escape a friendly tank that died right next to it.
Solution: Give Sherman (maybe Jackson) ability to crush their own carcasses or like size tanks to help with poor path finding. |
While it is better at attacking, it is also less good at defending bigger areas. You have to do a lot more guessing as to where the enemy will come from if you use it to say, defend your cut off on Road to Karkov. The offensive capabilities of the maxim already don't come for free.
And when it comes to grenades, all HMGs have it tough. While the maxim may be slightly better at dodging grenades if you pick up early enough (i.e. before it is thrown) it also already suffers from the drawback that the HMG gets dropped if the gunner is killed, forcing the whole squad to stop their retreat and pick the gun back up. So while the other members may have fled a bit more, the slower turning maxim gunner may get killed, allowing you to do more damage to it and potentially wipe the squad. Other HMGs don't have this, if the gunner is killed on retreat, the gun just magically teleports to the next guy; making it easier for the squad to escape compared to the maxim.
The maxim has some pros en cons that already weigh up to the pros and cons of other HMGs, the only difference is that the maxim does not do the 1 job it is supposed to do unlike other HMGs.

What if I told you.....that the Pershing and collipe are not in a commander and are actually part of custom commanders |
Well I will say CoH2 is the most poorly balanced game RN, its all due to how long it takes for their patches to kick in and their unwillingness to listen to the community but make good judgments on it. Their patches over buff something or over nerf units pushing them hard into the meta or completely wiping out the doctrines you can go (B4,kv1 commander for a start).
You can argue with me all you want but this is going to be my final view on this game. The bias is reaching critical levels, we don't get a lot of information about the game and how units that are adjust are supposed to fit their roles. Its almost impossible to talk strategies or if units are broken without someone calling you a "Wehraboo" or an "allies fanboy" leaving all discussions null and boring.
There is no counter play if you take out call ins for soviets, USF gets beat down by mg spam, and the only way for USF to win is to spam Jacksons to stop panther spam. There isn't a fair game, and its getting duller by the minute as axis and allies go the same commanders and don't have options to explore other ones to get a different game. Adding the Brits wont help the bitterness in the community and its unwillingness to discus balance issues and be open to changes. The past 2 weeks I have made posts constructive topics and issues and half the posts are filled with "its a l2p issue" without even giving the idea a try, they skip the wall of text and look for a TLDR without giving it a thought.
If we want this game to be here after the British launch, we as a community need to get better at communicating and telling people our reasoning behind it. Rn it takes 3 pages of talk to convince Alex that something needs changed. Balance patches are another issues, they should be smaller but more often to keep the META in check and make it so we cant spam broken units and make even more people put the game down, last but not least we need to understand both factions and how they operate. Play a few games as the other faction and think about it from a balance stand point rather than looking at the RAW W/L ratio as those wont till you that much.
This game as it stands is almost impossible to balance without overhauls, not even ESL would allow this to fly and in order to fix this we need more open minds not "l2p" or "Working as intended". Remember this is our game and our passion, we shape this game and its competitive back bone.

nooo the coh2 depression continues and relics streams will suck ass without cynthia They wont be that bad. Come on C mart and all the other Relic devs we have met, they have all been pretty cool people.
I wish we could know all of them and how relic works |
