I agree, tired of all the non stop pershing campaigning, the US is a finesse faction. With their early game strength giving them a pershing backed up by jacksons would just be silly.
Rifles just get eaten by LMG grens and need some help in that regard. I like the idea of a supply yard upgrade rather than just a straight scaling buff, seems like it would fit the faction more, rather than just making them scale with grens.
IMO you can balance the USF late game without giving them a heavy.
i agree with this. Pershing is not the answer if you need a bullet sponge then you are probably paying the U.S. wrong my biggest problem is not being able to tech due to a rifle men man power bleed, i think a supply yard type building could help with this ir reducing the cost of re-enforcements or make rifles scale better with veterancy or even just making them more effective at close range since they do have semi-auto garands |
I'm actually inclined to agree with you lol. Rangers were an unstoppable force in COH. We do need the Pershing though. The Allies don't have any damage soakers.
yeah what about a Sherman jumbo it had comparable armor to the tiger so it could be a bullet sponge while Jacksons support it |
Hello, I have been playing company of heroes 2 for quite some time, however I wouldn't go so far as to say I am a very good player (decent on a good day). I was wondering if anyone had some tips/tricks (any help at all really) on how to improve my map control when playing as OST? I find I usually end up either spreading myself too thin opening myself up to flank attacks or I get tunnel vision and lose too much map control.
Thanks in advance
Hi DustBucket. Smart MG play on 1v1 maps is a good way to lock down area of the map that your grens can't cover also building more grens in your opening may help to also OST are designed to start week so I'd try to focus on the fuel for a fast t3 as now that sovets don't get t-34 at t3 you can push with a p4 or stug just hold on until then and go .222 against quad rush or pack if you can micro it pack play is a little more advanced than just making a couple .222 |
Even if you guys did get your heavy tank, there'd be complaints about how Axis AT would tear it to shreds given how they tend to have good AT as a general rule and it doesn't fix the main issues with USF. And given how late heavies come now, it would unlikely save the day which USF players are likely expecting.
This. Then it'll be like "perishing is not as good as king tiger or tiger ace" and the debate will switch back to how overpowered the tiger ace is everyone complains that their units sent strong enough the line has to be drawn somewhere, ballance is completely subjective anyway. |
Give me crabs, pneumonia, swine flu, polio you can even have your Pershing anything but rangers
You can even have the Damn Pershing anything but rangers blobs |
I'm totally up for anything that makes those Axis players cry.

RANGERS WITH FIRE UP ABILITY WOULD BE COOL. Or something with OP lmgs to counter lmg blobberinos
There are horrible debilitating diseases that id rather go up against than rangers |
I feel they should have Rangers to scale better into late game.
i hated them in coh 1 as primarily a PE player those butchers had the ability to trample everything in blobs, im glad that the U.S. are less blobby in coh 2 Rangers and Bars only were so op back then |
You find it hard to get map control because you only have 3 rifles, get 4 then tech and dont fight battles you wont win, just retreat but better yet, always have another rifle squad close by.
it all depends on playstyle but see thats a contradiction as if you're playing soviets you can do a 5 or 7 conscript epening which allows you to have sqauds in groups of two if i have two us rifle swauds together it means the rest of the map im open except my third rifle squad or rear echelon squad i think as U.S. you do have to be much more tactful and intelligent about when and where your troops encounter the enemy and on what terms while not letting the enemy walk all over you. im certainly far from the best though i find as us im always playing catch up and teching to late |
If that tank is on the field, you absolutely have to kill it right away or you're going to have a problem. Aside from the squad wiping mayhem it causes, the Veterancy on it right off the bat is ridiculous.
yeah seeing the allies scramble to kill it is quite comical to watch as a spectator but quite tense as a player on either side the allies are trying to kill it and the axis are trying to keep it alive and although it is a huge advantage that can turn the game in favour of axis if it dies the axis player is in big trouble so its a kind of all in on both sides |
