Actually I kinda like this map, my favourite while playing as Soviet. In addition I love starting on the island side (north whatever) where you have to cross bridges to get to main land.
Soviet Forward HQ really shines on this map, same goes for B4 artillery and Shock Troops. But I guess that's just me |
I read somewhere that tigers spent 1000litres/100km (didin't check if it's true). Why not make blitz cost fuel instead of muni? You know, because realism
A round of applause for you, that is actually a pretty good suggestion. |
My favorite part about blitz is how the Panther can outrun a P47 rocket at top speed with it. It was actually pretty entertaining to watch, almost like the P47 was using a hellfire to follow the panther, but to no avail.
My favourite thing is when you attempt to ram a panther with T-34/76 and Panther simply Blitz+Reverse until T-34 runs out of steam and stops with overheated engine. Then Panther blitz is over and it just drives away like nothing happened. Fantastic balance! |
Isn't that what relic does since WFA?
I laughed so hard at this. |
OKW - broken
USF- broken
Ostheer - broken
Soviets - obliged to cheese tactics and stupid faction architecture
=> game is broken
=> doesn't worth playing
Nailed it. |
Relic nerfed Blitz, it was a very well deserved nerf. Now Axis tanks accelerate faster to their top speed instead of getting extra top speed. They also changed speed abilities on light vehicles. At that time panther got nerfed a bit as well, then came the stupid.
First they buffed panther to compensate for blitz nerf as tons of Axis players were crying. Then they buffed it some more, then a small nerf, then they reverted blitz and buffed panther again.
Blitz is not an ability used during WW2, it was a tactic of taking your units and rushing the enemy, taking them by surprise. Why blitz is in the game and why it gives such large speed increase to Axis tanks is beyond my ability to comprehend. |
Interesting how the thread developed, kinda happy to see many people miss CoHO. I personally liked it because everything was so overpowered that it actually worked well. I remember having loads of fun in 3vs3 and 4vs4, not even caring of loosing or winning, just having fun.
Currently I find it hard to judge what Relic is up to, their Facebook and Twitter is rarely updated and they never show up on forums to talk and share. Really love how you can find dozens of replies from devs on Wasteland 2 forums, makes you actually respect them a whole lot more.
My best guess is that Relic is currently working on USF campaign to appeal more to USF audience. They are really good at what they do, I just hope they can realize that the real money is in the multilayer scene. |
The plan was simple, lock down the fuel and bomb Fritz back to stone age. Allied commanders in the field reports, mission completed.
Can't say much about our opponents, they did't open up with a Kubelwagon, they blobbed lots of infantry and they got punished hard for it by the power of Soviet B4 artillery, amen. Even when they were starved for fuel 90% of the game, they still managed to bring out some heavy vehicles and even a JagTiger, but it died to Katyusha's.
Enjoy the one hour long replay, comment and may your shells always find their targets!
Sincerely yours, ZF. |
For the people claiming ISU-152 have a reliable chance to one shot infantry, please take a look at this replay and count how many "one shots" these two ISU's have managed to pull off.

Because there is a limit to what 2v2 tactics permit. In 4v4 you can do some crazy shit like building four B4 and dont get completely steam rolled by the enemy because you are backed up by allies.
Also 4vs4 is chaotic game mode where you have engagements on multiple fronts against multiple players. You can basically pick and choose which flank you want to fight. |
