Let's not forget that ostheer has the best AT, and you can also equip panzerschreck on pgrens, I know it's muni expensive but it, kind of, solves your problems with light tanks and such
The logic behind playing with a tank, see some infantary in the distance and decide to run over it, is like having a loaded gun and rush the enemy to stab them with my bayonet.
It's not just panthers, cromwells are really the worst, they just go in, crush and get out, and shoot some guys in the process.
The only thing critical about it is how game changing it can sometimes be, even when you don't blob, that vet 5 squad was making a difference but fine keep the crushing, it's just stupid to get crushed by a U-turn in the middle of nowhere, this from a gameplay point of view.
These days I'm feeling this mechanic more than usual. It's pretty common to see someone just rushing tanks over your troops, even when they have anti tank equipment.
I'm not gonna ask to remove the mechanic (or remove it, I'm not gonna miss it), but there are cases where it's plain stupid. I'm ok with getting my squads squashed agains buildings and stuff, but it's just plain retarded to have my squad in open ground, whatch a panther go on top of it, give a U-turn and BAM squad wipe.
And no I can't have ATs every-single-where. But if you really like the mechanic, at least let every medium/heavy tank have it.
These should not be horribly complex, after all all it takes is to copy the PG shrek code except with the upgrade names replaced. Only problem with giving LMGs this is that it will lead to LMGs being everywhere, but I guess for usability's sake it should be done.
What if you did to guards the reverse of what you did to obers? And combine both weapons into one. At least there might be less drops, and if i'm not mistaken it would have roughly the same dps as a LMG42.
What if obers had an assault oriented role? Giving them 4xMP44 and no upgrade (besides the doctrinal) they would be like Knight Cross Holders. That would solve the Long range problem, and they would still mantain their deadliness in close-mid quarters.
The frustration about the ISU nerf is understandable.
I don't think that the soviets actually have reliable ways of dealing with vet 5 squads besides the ISU, on the other hand the wehrmacht suffer way more than they should because of this. But this is a bad design flaw.
I read somewhere that tigers spent 1000litres/100km (didin't check if it's true). Why not make blitz cost fuel instead of muni? You know, because realism
The Kubel being OP problem could be solved in three ways:
1. Rework it. (Glass canon)
2. Move it to tier 2 (Medic truck), by the time it comes you may already have enough troops or research to deal with it.
3. Make it cost fuel, maybe somewhere between 5-20.
4. Delete it (lol)
OKW are the only ones who don't need to spend fuel to get a way of suppression.
Wehrmacht -> Tier 1
Soviets -> Tier 2
USF -> Tier 1
At the end of the day it seems to me that people don't want to make an effort to play the game. Ram can be gamebreaker, true, but you know it is there and it will probably happen, therefore you shouldn't "blame the system" but only yourself for not being prepared for it.
