Thread: A few things about UKF base howitzers13 Jan 2016, 21:41 PM Doing gods work son It's funny when royal Engies and the Churchill got hit with the nerfbat some memorable posters were saying "anvil is still worth it" thanks to the "amazing" airburst arty. Now we know that one is complete BS Now brits have no reason to tech for hammer/anvil at all, just sit in T4 spam cromwells/DLC Arty cover and hope for the best. In: COH2 Bugs
Thread: 2v2 Double Brits Guide13 Jan 2016, 17:21 PM The only glaring points that stand out to me are crom spam and tactical support cheese. Early game seems very much theory crafting, what about flame HT? mortar HT? Snipers? in my experience with randoms ostruppen/gren spam into quick flame HT can clear your early trenches and mortar pit in seconds, so a reactionary build dependent on what factions your facing is probably better. You talk about countering racketens and snipers with the command vehicle recon but don't even factor in a bren in your build (which imo is best brought out early so you can do some building clearance and MP bleed). As shrek bait as it is, it's still cost effective if you bring it out early and later sacrifice it for command vehicle recon. I agree that tactical support is the best odds UKF have at the moment, but a certain Wehr doctrine with mortar HT and 30muni pixie dust dispensers (that make LoS dependant arty cover useless) counter this to a tee. The tiger at the end is just the icing on the cake backed up by panzerwerfers. One day lelic will buff this faction In: COH2 Gameplay

The AVRE does not have to stand still for a minute to reload. That's worth a lot since you don't have to go way back to ensure safe surroundings while reloading. Sturmtiger can fire from behind the fog of war which makes deadly at wiping tanks and infantry. AVRE is not only more expensive, but a stumbling EXP sponge that needs to drive right up to tanks or infantry only to fire your mortar at dirt because your enemy is well aware of the threat and moved in time. When you break into the top 100 2vs2 ladder you will see what I mean, almost every axis team you play against has a OKW player cheesing elite armour In: COH2 Gameplay

Brits if just handicapped faction with failed design, which remains relevant only thanks to op abilities (heroic charge, croc, covering arty). Without question worst faction to play randoms with due to lack of self-sufficiency. Bits cant do much on their own, and always forced to rely on teammates to carry them through early-mid game, which is utter failure in random scenario. Brits can never field enough units, cannot trade cost efficiently without tanks, their teching and upgrades ensure tremendous amounts of bleed, emplacements are useless, gliders get shutdown by free OKW aa and cant be repaired, their medics are terrible and they don't have useful light vehicles. Worst British problems: 1)Sections are garbage, both in cost-efficiency and performance, and the fact that you cant avoid them only makes things worse. Vetted OKW blobs walk over upgraded and vetted sections without any problems. 2)Their most expensive HMG (DSHK aside) in entire game gets gunner-killed and erased by blobs up front or rifle grenaded to death 99 times out of 100. 3)No viable light vehicles. 4)Maps. All factions suffer from bad maps, but Brits most of them all. amen In: COH2 Balance

Thread: Blob counter for Brits?8 Jan 2016, 02:17 AM There is none, in all honesty the people saying you should use a centuar or AVRE are probably below your skill level. Centuar is way too slow and has paper armour = pak/volk bait AVRE lacks the range of the (cheaper and superior) sturmtiger and is pretty much a joke in comparison. Vickers really lacks suppression for blobs and is often gunned down frontally by LMG grens and obers. My advice is to spam cromwells and (DLC) artillery cover which is the only way to win as brits atm. In: COH2 Gameplay
