Did... did any one of you guys complaining about the teardown time even field a Flak HT in the past six months? Because I got news for you!
The bus was cumbersome but at least it had its rear armor exposed so it was pretty easy to take out with a sneaky AT gun. An AT gun will penetrate the front just the same. It's not exactly a Churchill. |
Don't kill me, but I actually like that Sniper recloak time is 6 seconds and hope this isn't a bug they will want to revert.
Ask yourself : WHY would anyone want less than 6 seconds? What sort of play does fast recloak time encourage?
Snipers behave totally unrealistically and break immersion and authenticity of the game. They are also a nightmare to balance (take double snipers vs Brit 4 man squads, for example) and are a micro drain. There is really no reason snipers are even needed in the game. They completely invert the flank / cover infantry equation - now, I understand sometimes counterplay should be possible, but oddly enough OKW and US don't seem to have any problems with this.
Furthermore, if you use your sniper as support, out of range of enemy fire, shielded by infantry, it will still be useful for taking out enemies and MG emplacements from long range, (you know, as a sniper SHOULD be used), even if its recloak time was 6666 seconds. |
Of course as soon as I praise them they pull one of these off.
I still believe... |
Maybe the Vickers K feels worse than Bren because Bren usually is given to a squad with 3/4 more Lee Enfields, which is a noticeable DPS boost, as opposed to the Vickers K, which comes on Engies.
Or maybe the K feels ineffectual because due to timing it shares the field with tanks and fires at the durable vet3 Volks/Grens/PzGrens.
I haven't played enough to notice a difference, tbh. |
With every change one must ask : is this needed? Would this change enrich the gameplay or not? In my opinion one of the suggestions stands out in this regard: artillery buff to TDs specifically.
There is nothing the game would lose by having Elefant and Jagdtiger (and ISU, just to be fair) receive a massive increases in damage received from howitzers. There is a lot to gain by it.
It gives the ability to break a stalemate. It gives a soft counter to something that is otherwise top of the food chain, which is good. For all the people who hate howitzers, this will be a WELCOME change for you, because a howie shooting at the Elefant is one less howie shooting at your MG position / medic truck.
Obviously this is not B4, so the only way say, an Elefant will get outright destroyed by a howitzer is if it receives 4-5 pinpoint hits, which will never happen given the scatter of the damn things unless you literally sit an elefant in the same spot all match and don't repair it between barrages.
Another thing that pops to mind is to guarantee stuns from artillery hits. near these beasts. That way an elefant or Jagdtiger can lose precious rotation and aim time and rushing mediums stand more chance against it, provided the allies use combined arms. In my opinion a concerted effort of artillery and tanks should be able to swing that particular matchup. Just the same as mortar + 2 infantry squads are already able to successfully rush an MG position even if there is no flank path available. |

This thread is amusing because it's easy to spot people who bought the Brits and have no axis factions, and the people who have either one or both Axis factions but don't have the brits.
Highly amusing. |
+1, credit where credit is due. |
Increase scatter of the LeIG please. Not to where it was two months ago, but it is currently almost applying for the position of the OKW sniper with better range.
I am not so sure regarding arguments against British emplacements. If you choose to go static you are opening yourself up to indirect fire, it is your choice basically. You get nice bonuses in return, it's risk and reward. It's not even NECESSARY to go emplacements, it's just a nice bonus. Brits were made to be defensive, sure, but you can be defensive without a Sim City.
17pdr? 6pdr does the job and it's cheap. Bofors? No sympathy from me there for you, and plus, Vickers does a damn good job controlling infantry blobs. Mortar pit? Just use... aaaaaand I have located the problem.
Brits have zero mobile artillery options (outside certain commanders). This is in my opinion a glaring flaw in an otherwise superbly designed faction and it causes all these problems.
What's interesting is, the Land Mattress was spotted in the game files... |
The actual answer to your question is - the "standard" reinforcement rate for any infantry unit is half that model's cost. So a single model of Tommies costs 280/4 = 70MP to build, therefore 35mp to reinforce.
This is not taking into account extra squadmember upgrades, models with increased cost (USF LT, Capt...) or offmaps that have extra costs associated with deployment.
German small squads suffer from the same "problem", the efficiency of single squadmembers being the obvious tradeoff.
... is what I would be saying if the sep 17th changelog didn't reduce reinforcement rates of certain 4-man Axis squads. |
