In any case if you think the maxim is fine then i propose we nerf the mg42 to maxim standards... do you think that is a fair proposition?



Sturmpanthers enemies only spam maxims...they had all in all no micro..but this was enough to shut down the OKW faction completely on lane maps. even as a good player.

Yes a good maxim player will deny resources to prevent a fast luch or 222 counter. And finish the game with their own fast t34. Perhaps those calling others to l2p, should try make use of maxim this way. Instead of crying no suppression or crying rifle nades kill them deathloop 101.

Yes... its a l2p issue despite everyone saying that its you who needs to l2p and despite EVERY SINGLE MAXIM BUILD in gcs2 was hardcountered with barely any effort at all...

If you really cant beat a maxim spam then you suck and should prolly shut it... then again youre the guy that claims the panther is UP because "my panther gets trolled by aecs"... how pathetic

Is this a joke because from what I have experienced using this unit, it is certainly not overwhelming.

Underwhelming, possibly but definitely not overperforming.


Easy fix.

Make it 4 man, increase suppression.

Really is useless to continue to find a fix around it rather than going with this simplistic concept.

It would be a better MG and Conscripts be more viable support since "merging" would be even more useful and stronger for a stronger performing MG.

If conscripts and maxim reinforce cost is not the same, make it so.

That's the problem though. The maxim is amazing if spammed but trash if not. We don't want maxim spam. We want it to be a SUPPORT weapon

The way some of you put it as if maxim cant suppress one bit. When others point out mg42 weak reposition times suspect to allies stronger infantry flanks, it is l2p.

How about those maximers l2p to make use of maxim fast reposition, high damages and higher model survival. Watch helpinghans play soviet maxim


Exactly, some players completely forget the massive strengths the maxim has with super fast set up times , a larger arc than originally intended, an insane 6 man team weapon squad, a higher sustained fire rate, higher damage and now increased suppression which is totally unnecessary and does nothing but promote maxim spam again.

That's like saying the old su76 was fine because it had a free barrage and not taking into account it had the same pen as the t34. The extras don't mean shit unless it can do the job it's supposed to. You don't buy an su76 for the barrage anymore that you buy a maxim for how quickly it repositions. I guarantee given the option of any other MG in the game in the same tier the maxim would gather dust.

It has been said many times, u can't make maxim 4-man due to the deathloop already making it essentially 4-man

The only reason why is because it does not suppress well enough. Making a 4 man with an increase in supression would be balanced.

Deadthloop would no longer cease to exist.

It would be similar to USF 50cal MG. That does not have a deathloop at all and that is fine for a 4 man suppressing well.

Would definitely be fine for Maxim too to be 4 man.

Btw, all models for MG have the same received accuracy!

You cant make it 4 men without removing the deathloop or nerfing the potency of axis inf. It will be even more easely wiped then it is already when flanked.
And a flank does not need to garantee a wipe.
Because right now a flanked mg34/42 has a far larger change to escape when flanked then a maxim ever will as long as the deathloop remains.

Imo the maxim fails at supressing and doing damage. I had 2 pfussies g43 vet3 very close together frontly deathlooping it. It supressed 1 as the aproached. The gunner died and it got wiped. And i paid 260mp plus tech for something so ineffective compared to the counterparts.

The maxim fails at supressing quickly enough and enough squads, it fails at killing models. Its not notably faster at redeploying. And it defenitly fails at being more durable wich is 1 of its 2 defyning feutures because of the fricking deathloop.

We could adjust the rec acc for maxim alone to soften the deathloop a bit. Put it at 1.0 instead of 1.25.
