Soviet airborne doctrine needs fixing

I tried to like it and gave the doctrine several tries but it's garbage.

There is no reason to pick it over other Soviet doctrines. Svt cons are decent but cons are worse than ever due to Ass gren buffs. It also locks you out of the 7 man upgrade. Soviets rely on T1 more than ever. Ppsh Penals are less effective than regular Penals. Dropped in Dhsk is ok. Shocks are better AI specialist than the Airborne Guards. No heavy tank. Only late game ability a mediocre AT strafe.

Please fix this doctrine so it's useable.

Have you used the AT strafe post hotfix?

Commander should not need heavy tanks to be good.

Actually Commanders with heavy tanks should have weaker abilities so they become less dominant.

As for skill shot I guess one could add a couple of shot that actually truck targets so that they can deliver some consistent damage.

Did the commander remove the su85? Cause I'm pretty sure that effective beast of an TD is how most commanders deal with AT. if the new commander is for some reason making that unavailable and thus impossible to use late game I'd submit a bug report.

FRP and SVT for Cons is basically what this commander is about, and honestly it's not worth it if seriously trying to win. It's way too infantry focused and once endgame rolls in you got su-85 which are useless on half of the maps and t-34 which are useless outright

I've told it before - IL-2 rocket strafe is literally unusable on any map larger than 2v2 pool as it comes too late even if you ram and snare enemy tank. Again why was rocket damage to buldings was set to zero? CAS strafe deals damage to buldings, why was Il-2 was never fixed to deal reasonable damage as well is question for "balance" team

Meanwhile if you straight up give Strategic Reserves to Soviets you get 0CP ppsh guards, M5 observation, penals smoke nades and engineer better repair/satchel, T34/85 and IS2 Ace.

But yeah, let’s neuter all the soviet doctrines to make heavy tanks less appealing.

I actually agree with this, particularly the commander with heavy tank should be balanced with weaker abilities -- though we're in so deep that it'd need to be a total overhaul or not, since just changing a few commanders here and there would effectively kill them until they are all equal.

Though, quite ironically, Wehr just got a commander with early infantry + premium medium + heavy tank that while not a call-in can be rushed.

If you understood that I was referring only to Soviet commanders you are simply mistaken.

I was referring to all factions.

If one want to increase the number of meta commander one has to bring all commanders around the same power level, that can be achieved by nerfing Heavy tanks or nerfing the rest of the abilities.

biggest problem of this commander is the huge MP bleed you get since everything is getting ripped apart by axis infantry.

but it's not that bad if you hold yourself to not be too agressive.

Su 85 is a non doctrinal unit. This is about the airborne doctrine. No idea what you are trying to say.

Like Brit lend lease it lacks a mantlepiece arty or tank ability

Give airborne assault IS-2 or a howitzer and it would be good.

Think of it like how the devs made British tactical support useful by making arty cover a incorporated ability and using the free slot for a croc

Suddenly a forgotten doctrine gets used again....
