Most likely your CPU cooler is the jet engine in your system. Never ever use a stock CPU fan. If you take a decent CPU cooler like for example the Scythe Mugen, it'll not cost you more than 30 bucks and the rounds per minute of the fan will never go above 1000, which you can barely hear. Temps will also stay at max 50-55°celsius under load, which ensures a longer life foryour system.

Just got it in the mail today. That thing is huge! Hope it fits in the case!

While the geeks are assembled; are there any sites to rival Toms Hardware for solid info within reach of understanding?

Toms has been really bad for years. Anandtech is probably the best.

What's your opinion about this:

I will have to upgrade my processor and along that my motherboard. Do you think that I will absolutely need to upgrade from my 2Gb HD6950 too?

I probably wont do it anyway, yet, but I'm interested about the bottlenecks and overall performance (at least the estimations - no need to all 'testy'). My processor choice will likely be the one that every builder, their cat and their cat's squeaky toy seems to be favouring in this thread.

I play with a 2 GB HD6950, I think it's fine.
And since Gfx are so easy to upgrade you can always wait a bit until the next "cheap" high end card is released.

With an i5-2500k, 16 gb ram and a p6z68vl asus mobo. The only thing dragging my computer downwards is my gfx. But I'm not upgrading until the games require it or I'll somehow got the money for a shiny gfx.

The 6950 is plenty for any game on the market unless your running a 30" monitor with a crazy resolution. I have one and flashed it to a 6970 and its a beast.

It runs fines on 1920 x 1080, just pointing out that the gfx is the slowest thing in my computer at the moment :)
