Since a few days I have a very strange problem with CoH2. It's not starting anymore.
The only thing that happens is that this little Steam screen window "Company of Heores 2 is starting" appears and that Steam is showing for 2-3 seconds in my friends list I would be playing CoH2, then I am immediately displayed again as "online".
And thats it. That's all that's happening. And I don't have a clue why.
I never had any problems before, and now they come out of nowhere, funny.
I already tried most of the suggestions from the Steam forums and I also tried a complete new installation (including the user folder).
What might be interesting to know is that my Geforce Experience, which allows you to set suitable graphic settings, for example, no longer displays my old settings and, strangely enough, can no longer retrieve them as if I had never started CoH2 before.
So far, nothing has helped at all. Maybe someone here knows what to do.

Do you have any overlays running besides steam? Also do you have team viewer installed?

Actually, nothing that wasn't there before. Discord, Origin, Spotify, standard stuff.
As for the team viewer, I don't have it.

Usually when someone gets these types of issues it is because Windows 10 just updated something and now it is broken. Maybe check latest updates and see if you can ROLL one back if its recent. And maybe update/roll back your nVidia drivers?
Can you run other games with no issues?

In fact, I recently updated Windows and my graphics drivers. I'll try to undo it.
All other games work as usual.

Well, apparently it wasn't Windows and it wasn't my graphics driver either.
However, I noticed that CoH2 does not appear in the windows settings under "apps". It may not be properly installed, for whatever reason.
That would at least explain why it doesn't show up in the apps and shows no Geforce Experience.

Rosbone: Knowing how companies work, I imagine a new hire making the menus. The API they are using is complicated and things were hard to figure out. But at some point QA or management should have addressed these things. Usually within 6 months of starting.
