Sometimes i am wondering me a lot.
Did you played this game already for 1-2 years?

More shit maps in pool, mud and deep snow, big unbalanced maps from side.

If I recall correctly the veto count is a hardcoded function of the number of maps. The only way to change it is to change the number of maps.

I'm just kinda curious what is so bad about Steppes? I find it one of the best 3v3/4v4 maps in the pool. Almost mirror, how I like it, and the only real issue IMO is elevation at some areas. But certainly more enjoyable than La Gleize for example.

- Why? Because you chose automatch.
- If you want to play exclusively on Redball or Port Hamburg,
there is custom for that.
- I think we ought to be allowed to vetoe every single map every created.
And then go into automatch, and come back from vacation 3 months later knowing
we're still in queue ;)

They should make a small map that's blank and white except no flags
with a huge impassable wall in the middle, US trump style.
This map would become the default for people who used up too many vetoes ;)

Accept variety, or play custom :)

Not sure if you paid attention to Bravus before but basically this guy's whole agenda over the past years was to do nothing but BabyRage about coh2, even if it didnt make sense.

It was funny enough tho that Essen steelworks or Steppes were listed as unbalanced 4v4 maps by him above, whereas HAMBURG as a good/balanced one

I feel the opposite to the OP, although i do agree the 4v4 map pool has got very boring.

Id sooner see some of the maps that were removed from 4v4 be reintroduced, which i then believe would add a extra veto.

I would love to see City 17, Across the Rhine and Angermunde back in 4v4. I thought these were all really fun maps to play.

Maps removed seems to just be personal preference from 1 or 2 people rather than what the community actually wanted.

Viesalm is a god awful map, the others are fine but sometimes the snow maps cause FPS drops.

Steppes is an interesting map for sure, if the teams are evenly matched then the fighting flows along the entire map very well and can lead to some awesome matches. The issue is incompetent players are even more noticeable on this map cuz every player must pull their weight considering how large the map is.

La Gleize North still has that horrendous cutoff on their fuel that is almost always contested. I feel like I never lose La Gleize if I play south. Also the snow + buildings is fps hell.

The current map pool is better than it use to be. I remember the glory days of Sittard Summer, City 17 and Rostov Winter or whatever it was called. Which was an automatic no fun match no matter what.

Whats the problem about snow maps? At this point it´s just a cosmetic thing.

Whats the problem about snow maps? At this point it´s just a cosmetic thing.

There are some special effects markers that float large fog/cloud textures close to the camera. These textures bog down the GPU very badly.

There are also additional things like drawing the snow in the air, snow on the ground, foot steps, vehicle tracks which all add to the drop in FPS.

Most of the 3v3 and 4v4 snow maps were reworked to improve FPS (except LaGleize). It will be interesting to see if snow maps become more popular after the rework.

A good spot to test on LaGleize is just left of the center VP by the munition. That is where the fog textures are pretty heavy.

But I am always going to ask people about snow maps to verify what exactly bogs them down for all sorts of PCs and hardware.

I have the same feeling with map vetoes, why force people to play maps that they dont like. Its like torture. Should be like counter strike, you chose the maps you want to play, even if its only one map.

Last time my vetoes are Lorch, Hill and Lanzerath because randoms go full retard there and it feels like maps have -10 to mates' wisdom. Dumbs go 2 players into castle, bleeding trying to get far fuel or stuck in forest defending closest resource point to the own base.

Hopefully CoH3 will have a much better veto system and/or much better map selection from the beginning. Playing on the less than ideal maps can be such an annoyance.
