Tips on a new Monitor?

I'd like it to be 1920x1080, since that seems to be the streaming standard resolution. It may be nice to stick with Acer. 27" or 29" sounds about right.
Any recommendations? What's this about LED? 2560 x 1080 wtf?
This maybe?

IPS panel or 120/144 HZ TN panel is the question you should be asking yourself. I recently bought myself a 16:10 IPS panel myself and I love it so far. The colors are godlike compared to a TN panel.
And if you would upgrade to a 1440p screen I guess you would need to upgrade your GPU. Depends on what you play really.

I know nothing about this stuff. Care to break it down in layman's terms?

I guess I'm kinda accustomed to inaccurate colors, so maybe smooth movement is more important to me.

I use one that is a model older than this one but nearly the same thing. Its 16:10 1920X1200 which is superior to 1080P. Streaming or not, it still has a much better usable screen size and dont get stuck on 1080P as 4K is coming. It is also using the latest IPS panel (AH-IPS) so color reproduction will be very good. It is Asus's PA series which is their Professional line of monitors so quality will be a step up, i know mine is built like a beast. The difference you'll see compared to a TN panel will blow you away.

The other option I'd look at is a 2560X1440 monitor. If it were me buying a new monitor today I'd seriously consider this route. It is harder on the video card playing games but oh well. The panel will still be IPS, but probably not quite as high a quality as the AH-IPS, but the res would be so nice.

With a 60Hz monitor you can only see 60fps but with a 120Hz monitor you can se up too 120fps.
4K resolution = 4000pixels, ultra HD.

The Digital Cinema Initiatives consortium established a standard resolution of 4096 × 2160 (8.8 megapixels, aspect ratio ~17:9) for 4K film projection.
or will it be 3840x2160?
4K UHD is a resolution of 3840 pixels × 2160 lines (8.3 megapixels, aspect ratio 16:9)

Do you see more game space with that resolution versus the older 1900x1200? For example can you see AT gun full range even if aimed facing up/down?

Good for you.

No, the zoom level is the same regardless of screen resolution.
