You need to wait for the guy with the MG to "desetup" it(approx 1.5 secs), just like the guy with the MG42.

If it wasn't setup prior to clicking retreat then it's just a bug, it happens with a lot of units. They stop here and there for no reasons.

seems to happen very very often to the maxime every second match i play it stops during the retreat.Conscripts often run a small way back

I've read "when i retreat maximes they often stop before the retreat for a second". What lead me to that mistake is you're talking specifically about the Maxim when it happens to ALL units in the game (and the fact I didn't pay enough attention when reading...).

I'd love to see you try to wheel one of those through all of that terrain all the way across even half the distance these poor Russian soldiers have to. Something tells me you would take more than a 1 seconds break on the way back. I think they deserve the rest.

This brings up a good point, I've lost many a squad because they get stuck on random terrain and stop for a second or two when retreating. This really shouldn't happen.

Anybody know if that auto-seek-cover/let-squad-members-catch-up mechanic is still somehow active even though they're retreating? Because that would be really stupid.
