backing my KT up against a house and still losing it to 4 M10 callins frontally :S

You say that like there's something wrong with that....

Probably because certain units have no buisness penetrating other certain units frontally. A t70 can pen a KT frontally with enough luck. Nothing wrong there though right?

Since penetration chance is a mathematical equation and not IRL simulated value, then no, nothing wrong with it.

222 can pen IS-2 frontally as well.

Its arcade RTS game.
Not WW2 simulation.

That is a very limited mindset. Because something is RNG doesn't make it balanced.

That is LITERALLY A GAME MECHANIC!

Do you often lose KT to T-70 or IS-2 to 222?
If yes, then balance isn't a problem here as that RNG is balanced.

So what is your point? People should be able to win games with enough luck?

I really miss CoH1 tank combat when armor was actually worth something. Churchills and Cromwells with AI guns couldn't do anything against Panthers and Tigers for example. There was more balance in tank roles (and thus army composition).

I do not like how now in CoH2 everything can pen and everything does deflection damage. Like how Su-76 or ZiS-3 with IRL pen of 50-60mm can magically reliably penetrate Tiger II with 185-200mm of effective front armor or PTRS rifles (40mm pen) doing damage to the front (200-250mm) of a Jagdtiger.

That is how this whole series is balanced since forever.
That means weaker unit may get lucky and win against stronger unit.
Glad you finally noticed.

But again, if you're losing significantly stronger units to units that are non factors for them, that is not balance fault, that is you being bad beyond the human comprehension.

So when something is in place "since forever" even though it could be a bad mechanic, don't change it. Got it. You'd do pretty well at relic, you could probably come up with some more abandon/maingun crit mechanics that add so much fun and complexity to their games.

Buzz off.

So what do you want?

Ultimate RNG like in Men of War?
Or re-textured Red Alert?

That mechanic is literally what MAKES the game.
Its not going to be change, because it IS coh.

If you don't like it, why are you playing this game in the first place?

There is plenty of other WW2 RTS games with more or less RNG.\

You went to pizzeria and are ranting that you got served a pizza instead of BigMac.

NO U.

Now you're hardcountered.

Apparently you also missed a few details when picking this game, because the problems you have with it is EXACTLY what makes this game into what it is.

However I can give you some links to Red Alert games if you want, they don't have much RNG there.

Yeah, I know most people prefer the fast-paced game, being older and slower, I preferred the old game :)

I don’t remember it that way. My recollection was that cover was irrelevant, you could amble through red cover and models only died when hit with a grenade, which I one saw described disparagingly as ‘casting’ spells. This did mean twitch ‘tactics’ was much less significant I suppose but it still seemed rubbish that men crossing open ground against defended positions didn’t pay for it and it dispelled any sense of infantry combat simulation

4 M10s winning vs 1 KT doesn't sound like luck. It sounds like 360 fuel worth of TDs doing it's job.

And by your logic, because you backed up your KT into a building, it should be invincible to anything short of a heavy TD? That sounds like a fun game to play

M10s were 80F IIRC, but they're designed as spammable FLANKING TDs. If you don't present your flank, theoredically they should not work.

Remember the few dark days when we had Shermans firing at like 500 rpm out of their main guns because of that heavy cav combined arms bug? Cuz I do...

I'm a big fan of the various shenanigans during the first Vetgate "fix." Nothing shows Relic's attention to details and rigorous standards of playtesting of patches quite like a 96 man RE squad where each and every one of them had flamethrowers.
