Another wonderful thing were flares in doorway, just waitin for that expensive fallschirmjager squad...
Also wehr sniper incediary round could wipe entire blobs.
Or five calliopes per match as USF, if you had a good teammate to protect them... poor opponents.
Yeah, theres a lotta stuff that will certainly (not) be missed.

Vet 2 grens would wipe everything
You could have both 42s and g43s
And vet 3 paks Kreygasm
They could cloak and 2 shot t34-76s

Small arms fire doing nothing and infantry fights being all about rifle nades and Molotov’s
Literally the only way you could bring lethality in the game was fire, bombs, and tank crush.
Peter Qumsieh's lethality and weapon profile patch in Q2 2014 saved the game in my opinion.

Also there was an early patch where MG42s were so uber powerful you could literally just spam them and attack move across the map.
I disagree the weapons profile patch in 2014 saved the game, it just changed it. Before it was a game of maneuver and army composition, after that it has become much more about fast multitasking and fast reflexes, where faster micro would beat maneuvers and tactics that might take a while to execute. Since lethality was increased, it has generally been better to go for shorter maneuvers and blobbing became more powerful because players quickly learned that the way to win was not by maneuver but by wiping units. The best way to wipe units is to focus fire on weak squads with a blob. The best counter to that is faster reflexes (fast retreats).

The very brief Grenpocalpyse when G43 grens became miniguns on wheels. I beat Cataclaw once in 1v1 that patch

The change in playerpool sizes and the activity in 1v1 speak for themselves go through steam charts and compared before and after that patch!

Yeah, I know most people prefer the fast-paced game, being older and slower, I preferred the old game
