Why should they not be 28 to reinforce? That is a standard amount for 5 men infantry squad costing 280mp to build.

Take more damage than other infantry, because they have to close in.. then retreat.
Volks on the other hand can just chill at range, taking no damage and farming Vet.
USF is so reliant now on AA halftrack rush that they struggle to get a counter for the P4/Stug/Ost rush
Soviets are fine, since conscripts are arguably the best starting infantry right now. They have the models to tank hits, and honestly Ambulances dying is a commonplace. (Light vehicle dives, then smoke out)
Every Wher is doing heavy T1 into fast tech up and there's nothing to punish it.
OKW push USF off fuel points like nothing, you can't flank into stormpios
Even the grenade ranges/damage set up USF for failure lol

You mean 5 Rifles squads AND officers? That's excessive if so. Most people usually go for 3 Rifles (maybe 4 if you have a poor fuel start and can't tech up). Anything beyond that and you're setting yourself up for manpower bleed.

Yeah 5 rifles is way too much. Get a mortar, a .50, or elite infantry instead of the last two.

Coh1, never more than 4 Riflemen before at least upgrading the Supply Depot once.
Coh2, Going 4 Riflemen + Lieutenant is heavy upkeep and manpower consumption. I guess it is better to build a second RE equiped with BARs or Zooks or flamthrower or a mortar than a 4th RM squad.

Maybe USF have changed to be more reliant on fewer infantry...
Flame engineers, mg/mortar and 2-3 rifles into rangers/pershing seems to be meta now.

You could get away with 4-5 riflemen because of smoke. Now that they don’t have the smoke grenades it requires too much micro to make it works, at least for me. You could go for lmg blobs plus mortar that tend to solve infantry problems for me unless I am really behind on vets and tech. But in 1v1 I will still not have more than 4 squads. You have lieutenant and captain who can join in the lmg blob to give extra fire power. I would say only go for 4 riflemen squads if you have lmg upgrade otherwise stick with 3 riflemen. But I am only a level 9 or 10 and I A-move a lot which is why I favored the lmg build for my rifles making them beefy grenadiers.

Pffft. Wehrmacht's cheap ass 240 MP Grens beat the hell out of Riflemen especially when they get the MG42 upgrade or G43s. Riflemen preform abysmally for their cost, the only worse infantry unit for the price is probably the UKF Infantry Section.

Pffft. USF's riflemen beat the hell out of Wehrmacht's "cheap ass" Grens, especially when they get the BAR's or 1919LMGs. Riflemen are amazing.
Also, while the Gren initial cost is lower, they pay more for reinforcement.

Either way riflemen suck pretty bad. That BAR upgrade is a side tech and requires a retreat to HQ for the upgrade so its not like its readily available. Volksgrens are like the prefect core infantry unit though, cheap and good long and short range weapons.

CODGUY must be playing a different game than me, since Rifleman are amazing and are definitely better than Grenadiers and Volksgrenadiers. And late game with Vet-3 and 2x BARs, they are definitely the best infantry.

Yeah, 5 Rifle never was meta. As long as I can think it was 3 Rifle into Lt. or 4 Rifle into Cpt.
