What the title says, I haven't had this problem until this 2.3 gig patch update to the game.

It keeps bringing up Art .sga files from the Archives folder as being corrupt, for example like ArtGerman.sga or AEFSkins.sga.

Verifying game cache does not work.

Reinstalling the game does not work.

I only haven't tried to "flush" my Steam files yet but I don't believe that will work either, I could be wrong tho.

Has anyone else encountered this yet?

I have not heard this error before. Not to insult you, have you tried restarting steam, if so here is a quick google search results I have found that might help.
-run disk check
-check anti virus
-run CoH2 in administrative mode
-http://www.pcadvisor.co.uk/how-to/pc-components/how-to-fix-a-corrupt-hard-drive-3268229/

from here you can try this

*If you do a Steam install, be sure not to delete the Steamapps folder. For example:
a) MOVE the "Steamapps" folder elsewhere (don't copy), then
b) DELETE steam completely
c) DELETE the remaining folders for Steam
d) Reinstall Steam (point to the same folder through settings->library.. if not default)
e) MOVE Steamapps folder and replace the new one
f) VERIFY each game in Steam prior to launching.

Thanks, I'll try that when I have some time on my hands.

Alright so:

Ran disk check, ran anti-virus, can't run CoH 2 at all since it needs to update, nothing so far.

Deleted everything else besides the steamapps folder and the Steam.exe, nothing again.

Make sure your anti virus is not blocking CoH2

try this

Since it says your art files are corrupt, you could try deleting them and have verify cache fix it?

Perhaps your hard drive is too full, delete a game you do not play anymore.

Is this the only similar problem you encounter? Read/write errors may indicate corrupted RAM. You may want to run a RAM check, for example - https://www.howtogeek.com/260813/how-to-test-your-computers-ram-for-problems/

Why not just uninstall coh2 and let it redownload itself with the patch included. That will most likely fix it anyway.

Ok I double checked your suggestions from the first comment and again, nothing.

And I triple checked my anti-virus (Windows Defender), still nothing.

Flushing as I expected sadly also doesn't work.

I deleted the "corrupt" files, I even deleted the entire folders, Steam just re-downloads the corrupt files again. Verifying the game cache doesn't work either, says some things are corrupt and need to be re-downloaded, it redownloads them and still says it has corrupt files in the download.

I have at least 40 gigs on both of my partitions.

Strange thing is I'm running into 2 additional problems now:

Bayonetta from my friend's shared library also tells me that there is something wrong with it's files and it doesn't also download.

And Dota 2 gave me the same problems a couple of weeks ago when I wanted to delete my items from there.

The other problem I'm having is that my disk usage stays at 100% most of the time and now I'm also trying to fix it as well.

It's really weird, the 100% disk usage and the download problems sort of came along hand in hand together like 1 or 2 or 3 weeks ago out of nowhere.

And I don't think it's my hard disk, altho this is an old laptop from 2011 I don't think it's that fucked up, unless there is dust built up inside it, but then again why and how would dust manage to fuck with the HDD, I think dust can only cause trouble for fan components such as the processor and video card.

Yeah... Thanks for the suggestion but I doubt it's my RAM.

Could you try running the game off of a external hard drive or flash drive? Steam has now a change installation option to assist in this. Granted this will not be optimal when playing but maybe it can help narrow down the possibility your hard drive is going bad.

I did a Windows 10 reset around New Year.

Doing a complete reinstall and risking losing my entire hard drive for a game is a big no-no for me.

See, there's your problem.
I wouldn't trust that adware to be honest.

I was thinking more of attempting this on a different HDD.
But if you're pressed for time, I can understand

I got a few hours to burn after I get back from work.

However, I am pressed for the amount of content I will lose and can't back it up since it's too much and my internet is shit.

And no, it's not porn, since I am a modder I have lots of modding stuff that I haven't released or am working on.

And pictures, and some soundtracks, and some exe files for applications which I am not even sure where I got them from.

So yeah, it's more about the pain of backing up everything than the time.

Lol no one assumed it was!

It will be easier if you get yourself a fresh drive when you have the time to give it a try.

That was what I was thinking a couple of days ago, if I get a new drive I'll just clone this one and be done with it.

Other problem is that more urgent matters such as my car require the little money I'm making.

So yeah, I'm stuck with this drive until further notice.

Still tho, thanks for your suggestions.

Hey, sorry for replying so late but again, nothing sadly helps.

If nothing else helps I'm considering either re-installing my windows 10 or just grabbing another hard disk when my budget allows it, other than that I got nothing else but to get an entire new computer, again, when my budget allows it.

Thanks again for all of your help and time wasted on me.
