I found this thread: https://www.coh2.org/topic/35324/free-graphical-upgrade-reshade-sweetfx for a better looking COH2.

The thread looked a bit dodgy, but I ran his files trough total virus and everything looked fine so I tried it.

Virustotal scan:

And to my suprise it actually looks much better than normal, you can test it for yourself by disabling/enabling the settings with "Scroll lock".

Just copy everything to your COH2 folder (C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Company of Heroes 2)

All credit goes to TrickyWaters for making this, I just wanted to bring it under the attention again.

The only reason COH2 is still around, is because it's preserved by salt.

If only I had computer powerful enough to run coh2 on VM I would definitely try that :P On new steam account ofc.

Sweet FX is generally a reputable graphics mod for many games, so it shouldn't be a safety hazard for your PC.
The internal battery has run dry, the game can now be played. However, clock based events will no longer occur.

Consider downloading it from the reputable source: http://reshade.me/

Although you may still need the above file for a preset if you don't want to start from scratch.

The fact 0 out of 55 AVs found anything assured me enough, but ofcourse everyone can judge for himself.
The only reason COH2 is still around, is because it's preserved by salt.
