Here's a more complete list of the recent changes I made:

site is now using https
improved login security
added the ability to change the order of threads on any index (see "Order by" at the bottom), including by honor count, download count, post count, view count, current number of viewers, and many more
added live notification of new posts on the current thread (some improvements & bugfix still planned)
added live update of the "user browsing this thread" (some improvements still planned + using the same for board info)
fixed a bug where the post # inside threads was incorrect
fixed a bug where changing the participants on a PM would give an error page
fixed a bug where locked threads would stay at the top of the list for a while
fixed bugs with the livestreams page, including when the list would disappear with clicks (for changing page, ...)

Added "infinite" scroll down to the shoutbox and increased default view to 20
Fixed a bug where the site would request a client certificate on certain browsers following the introduction of https

Added thread index filter thread post count
Added thread index filter replay player count

Added user setting for live notification of new posts on the Board Options (this is below your user profile)
- never
- only while typing
- on last post viewed, or typing
- on last page, last post viewed, or typing
- always
(default value set to "on last post viewed, or typing" for everyone)
Fixed various bugs regarding live notification of new posts, especially reduced the number of unnecessary notifications

Added auto-update to the shoutbox
Improved shoutbox scroll (removed limit, but going too far will make you lag)

(significantly) improved load time all around the site
this also implies the site will handle itself better when there are a lot of people at the same time

Now the load time is back to an acceptable level but I'm not really happy with it either. I'll keep monitoring it and apply changes as I see fit.
