Game Crash since 10.07 update

Hi folks,

since the new patch, my game keeps crashing with that "send error report etc" popup (next time I will send it though). When I want to restart CoH2, Steam says it needs to be updated, seems like Steam is fixing gamefiles or something, because it does not download anything. Before the patch, that did not happen. I haven't found a scheme yet. Anyone else encountering this?

Sorry this is not going to be helpful, have not yet played COH2 today since this new patch, so I'll report back if anything strange happens (or if not), but I can ask you, what graphics card do you have? As I have a friend who has a Radeon 3870 and his unable to play COH2 (except strangely for snow maps), it ALWAYS crashes on him, this is a problem with the game or graphics drivers for the Radeon 2,3 and 4 series when playing COH2, hope it get's fixed soon though.

Played skirmish or two, no crashes. And yes whenever the game does crash for whatever reason steam updates, or repairs it again.

Thanks for your replies. My hardware should be fine (AMD 7870), and it began with this update. I will have to observe it. I played 3 online games since update, 2 of 3 crashed. I will keep this thread updated.

This might explain why I had a few oppenents lag out in middle of the game on my stream last night. Could be just bad connection or this problem you are encoutnering.

Well. I played like 5 games and it did not happen again. Maybe my PC was fucked up. Don't know.

Yeah I've been getting this annoying crash and update ever since the game went retail, never got it in beta. Having to re-update and wait 10 mins before launching the game again was confirmed by a developer and is apparently intentional. Hey guys,

had the exact same problem. This is what I did. Figured I needed a full reinstall, but bungled that. I did however dump all of the coh2 information in my games folder, company of heroes 2. After doing that, steam just updated the game and all was good again.

See if that works.
