The map resources on hamlet are so far apart on the opposite sides of the map that it prevents most forms of harassment play. Meaning that each side can easily hold at least munitions point and fuel points on their side of the map.
It also divides players up too much as they must split completely to secure their resources, often causing one player to get double teamed etc. The middle VP also promotes campy gameplay imo as it is hard to manoeuvre vehicles and there's loads of heavy cover.

Chateau is a nightmare on middle part since tanks and ATs have a hard time to shoot over the terrain.
I'm kinda indifferent about the mud.

It just feels a bit like Lienne Forest, gotta get mid and and left side (or top) while you keep forest out, but you gotta kinda go and hold there since there is your fuel from north start. Long ways that let allies win the early game and then to get back a t that they already have out t70, bofors, aec, stuart and can dominate that part even more. And the map is a low ressource map on a big territory, kind of a reversed crossing in the woods
have you tried middle and one side for german? like not going so aggressive. I dunno. I have not played on my map on automatch and ...
Chateau is alright but hamlet is a shocker.

this is a good point. I never thought big size will "back fire" but that was kind of the point. I didnt want a team able to get 50-60% of the map and be completely secure. I wanted to create a gap in their frontline. may be a too big of a gap. preventing harrassment was not the point though if the big size actually does hinder it that much.

I hate chateau with every fiber of my being.

Hamlet forces teams to spread their forces out instead of sitting comfortably and winning that way, so it's kind of refreshing. I also like that the town itself doesn't instantly win the game for whoever controls it. I spent most of one game harassing and backcapping in the woods to maintain constant pressure and we won by VPs, even while the town was hotly contested by the other 4 players.
