Were you able, at any point in the history of the game, to throw grenades from buildings while garrisoned? Just wondering.

In fact it was possible a while ago in vCoH.
It was not intended but a bug where you could order the ability and the units inside the house did it after the entered the building. It was also possible to shoot a Panzerfaust.

In CoH it was possible to do it in mods. You just had to set "allow_ability_in_garrison" (not the exact sentence, but it was something similar) from "0" to "1". Blitzkrieg was an example for a mod using this mechanic.

I'm pretty sure it is possible in CoH2 too, but it seems to be not intended to bring it into the game.

Never seen such an ability, but then again, I've seen Soviet infantry squads besides Conscripts throw AT nades at my tanks. Heck, I've seen HMGs and even AT Guns throw AT nades at my tanks. This has been the case since game was released.

Never seen that myself, but i heard that AI selects models instead of units, so it would make sense, when it recrews a gun or uses a merge

Yeah, the AI does that. It's funny when an AT gun with panzergrenadier throws a bundled grenade at you. Or a penal throws an AT nade at your vehicle (penal resupplied with conscript). Realistic, funny, and usually annoying.

No one likes going up against grenade spam, but dat shit's totally realistic :D

Yeah, that's been an issue since a little after WFA, I remember the first time I saw a shock squad snare a 222. Soviet AI is annoying as hell between that and Prop War spam. Side note on that glitch, I've seen AI Tommies and Ostruppen still have the graphic for their cover bonus while crewing team weapons, does it work for the team weapon or just the crew?
