I've noticed that too - I believe this is because British Trenches have a far smaller target size (2) compared to other garrisonable defensive structures (for example, USF FPs and Wehr Bunkers have a target size of 26). I can't prove it, but I'm pretty sure target size affects the hitbox of a unit's model when scattering shots fly around to see if they can still hit something.


Heya Relic. Since the Feb. Patch is approaching, I might want to ask you guys to take a look at UKF trenches. Any non direct fire (mortar, leig, werfer, stuka .... and I dunno if I missed something else?) are the only thing that could potentially damage the trenches. AT guns, Tank shells and schrek would literally passed through them even if its placed in front of them if we target them manually (attack by right clicking the trench) and there is higher probability if we just use attack ground instead. Even with 50 manpower cost, the UKF trenches can only be garrisoned by their owner's infantry, I do not think that this actually should give the trench an 'invincibility' frame each time any axis player wants to destroy it. Or is this actually intended features? CMIIW :D

15 AT gun shoot at close range from OKW pupchin and brits AT gun cant hit it. only 1 hit. does anyone actually tried to blow it with at guns? or is it really just for indirect fire?

I wonder why you expect AT gun to destroy trenches Kappa at gun is a unit that shoots parallel to the ground and always in direct fire, a trench is a hole in ground, how did you come up with the idea that one counters another?

I have notices this too. shreks/raks ALWAYS miss them

On latch's stream yesterday 2 volks squada fire 3 shots apiece. All 6 shots missed before the volks had to retreat.

I also have a replay of multople shreks/raks missing trenches built on a central VP all game... something is wrong with their target size.

Seems counterintuitive to have to attack ground them but no etheless, thanks for the tip

In CoH1, British slit trench is rarely hit. Many players want Relic to change CoH2 British trench model back to that one, but Relic still turn away with such request.

Trenches are meant to provide protection from direct fire....

Pass through them? Not maybe pass over them? Is this a joke?

Did you read the post? I guess you didn't since what he said was "they can't be hit by directly fired projectiles"

Read before writing next time

This is pretty annoying since it takes a long time to get rid of them and even sometimes even ground fired fire wont be able to hit them, should be fixed, dunno if this is a problem with Axis trenches tho

1. trenches should be without cost
2. trenches should have a long build time
3. trenches should be captured by any faction if abandoned
4. trench itself should be near to invulnerable to direct fire

Have you tried attack ground instead of right-clicking them?
