whats about teamgames? :huhsign:
Have you ever seen a 1v1 esports tournament in CS:GO or dota/lol? Its all about teamplay.

but at least they did one step in the right direction... next steps:

- involve more players in pre-patch builds
- make Coh2 f2p (Wehrmacht and Soviets)

Ever seen a 2v2+ Starcraft tournament? Didn't think so.

It kinda bothers me that they committed less than $2500 for this, and missed on the chance to host an offline finals at their offices. They could've shown people they were serious about this.

They're testing the water surely! Why would they go balls deep with a $20,000 stadium tourney at first? :)

I'm quietly optimistic about this, it's modest but may mean bigger things down the line depending on how successful it is?

The community held an exponentially larger event in OCF. This is 3 months of shitty online tournaments. Sure, it's better than nothing, but it says to me "We like the cheap advertising this will get us", not "We want competitive CoH2 to succeed".

The prize pool is irrelevant. All they needed to do was invest in flying out the top 8 players at the end of the 3 months for an offline finals at their offices. That right there shows a serious committment and a serious effort to acknowledge the role of the community in the game's success.

When you're the developer of the game, you don't "test the waters"; what kind of confidence in the title does that convey, and what does it say when the community can fund a larger event than the developers themselves? You do something big or you don't do anything at all.

They won't feature a 100$ prizepool if the rest is +100.000 on their frontpage.
This is nothing for them.

I was hoping the big announcement was something related to warspoils, dont really care for ESL if this is supposed to bring us more tourneys or something CoH already has many community hosted tourneys

Well if it atleast helps Company of Heroes move forward then I guess that would be something on a positive note

Getting too greedy there bud but on that note I did notice there is much more players from Europe that are ranked high on the leaderboards

Also how do you feel about being featured in the rules alongside Jesulin :)
http://play.eslgaming.com/companyofheroes2/europe/coh2-tbf/major/go4coh2-europe/cup-1/rules

From the Rules

"3.1.4. Country
A player's country must be set to their country of residence. Deliberately faking the country of residence is punishable.

If a player's country of residence is changed in order to avoid the Trusted (Playercard) league restriction in order to join a ladder, they will punished with 2 penalty points. The player is barred for one week. If the player does so and plays in a team match, the team will get 3 penalty points and the match is deleted."

They are testing the waters. I don't expect a HUGE prize pool for a monthly event.

Give them time and coh2 esports will come boys.
