Pretty simple suggestion. The OKW Breakthrough Doctrine's Sturm Offizier needs a "Follow Squad" function so he isn't such a pain to micro about. British Officers in CoH1 had this function, so I can't imagine that it would be particularly difficult to implement.

Not agreed.
It's all about the micro. You receive quite nice buffs but in return you must micro him or you risk retreating whole blob.

What you want is to get buffs but without any risk or micro.

So the blobbing is even easier?

Micro and be rewarded for it, don't micro and be punished by mass retreat.

L2P situation.

By that logic, USF Captain should also force retreat nearby rifle squads if captain model is killed after using Rally ability.

The officer already gives a huge buff, and the risk is not even that great already. So no.

That doesn't even make any sense. How do you compare Cpt and Sturm officer? Do you even?... I don't even...??

The unit needs vet. Your suggestion would make it easier to blob since you need less micro. Use control groups, it will make easier to micro.

IMO it's a bad idea, it would give almost no chance to kill the offizer due to being constantly out of range, but if it's like a close follow who would allow to kill the offizer, i'm okay with that :)

Lol. Obviously you don't.
How about they both encourage blobbing? Captain's On Me ability causes all nearby infantry to ignore suppression effects and increases move speed?

Do you know how long that ability effects USF infantry? Do you know how long the OKW Officers effect last vs Axis infantry? There is your reason.

USF captain doesn't grant extremely powerful aoe buff at ALL TIMES.

You're comparing apples to oranges, these two units have nothing in common.

Lets just have the game play for us, so we can sit back with our fedora hats and just enjoy it like a cinematic experience.

British Officers from CoH1 were also hated for causing blob city, so I'm sure most would prefer as little from them appear again as possible. (The Airlanding Officer basically has the Heroic Charge ability [different stats, of course] again unfortunately :*()
