you think relic will one day make a CoH game based on the Korean War of the 1950's because the korean conflict is a mostly forgotten war much like the WW2 battles Hurtgen Forest and Peleliu. it wud be nice if they step out of the WW2 comfort zone.

being in the WW2 era is too simple too obvious especially in the ETO. they should make one about the pacific too because like Hurtgen is a forgotten theater of war

i love ww2.

and i see no practical reason to expect the "forgotten war" setting. and not in a way wannabe shitheads in this forum who just shit on relic for shitting's sake.

coh2 launches based on eastern front: a "forgotten" or at least "lesser-talked-about" part of WW2. interesting, i wonder what's next....

and they go back to same boring ass shit: USF, 2nd German military, UKF. the road traveled so frequently and for forever.

aaaaaaaaaand i like ww2. stick with ww2 and do more soviet, more forgotten armies pleaseeeee. and stick with them. or dont even try from the beginning.

Relic should have a new campaign expansion where it combines the OKW and the Ostheer fighting in Germany as the allies close in on all fronts. The player's objective will be where to defend a certain location with the resources they could scrounge up. The objectives could be escorting wounded and civilians out of the fighting to holding important strategic buildings or sites from the allies. Then the last mission could be the last remaining effective force in your command is to cross the Elbe and shortly meet the allies.

No. It wouldn't sell. The largest playerbase comes from Europe and here the Korea war is simply not interesting enough to make a game about it that would actually sell.

The only thing I could imagine is a fictional post ww2 scenario - based on operation unthinkable.

In that way you could've all the nice tanks and units that were too late for the party.

I want them to make a game that isn't historically accurate because that is why COH2 sucks. You can't go for statistical realism because in reality the axis forces raped us in the ass and the only reason they lost is because they ran out of resources and time.

From the developers' standpoint, not gonna happen. You are tied with only 2 factions (maybe a third Chinese one). You hands are tied, you can't tell a story (if you're interested in SP).

From audiences' standpoint, I would prefer a modern day (70s-80s cold war) setup, something like World in Conflict, but not like World in Conflict.

From the realistic standpoint, Relic is gonna milk CoH2 for now, then they are gonna move to DoW series because it's guaranteed to sell.

You might want to read up on your history you can have up to 6 different factions, more countries fought in the war than just the united states and Korea/china. Why are you not able to tell a story? its a civil war that lasted 3 years and killed over 2.5 million people, thats a gold mine for a good story.

not to mention it is not as "widely" discussed as the Vietnam War

Could be cool but I don't think it'd be a very good business decision by Relic. Sticking with WWII or venturing into a more tested setting like the modern era would probably be a better bet. I'd personally enjoy it but I don't think a Korean War RTS would attract anyone outside of the rts/coh communities.
