Imo its in a bad spot atm for couple reasons.

-its the most expensive one,
-has a long setup time,
-big exp need to vet up,
-cant kite or be used to flank

removing the setup time and lowering the price might help to brig this unit to use again.

countering it shold be no problem sice all the armies can have at guns out when it hits the field

The answer is most obviously going to be no. Comparably yes, allied halftracks are much better, the flak halftrack is still pretty decent. They could drop its setup time by like a second and make it cost 50 fuel. But imo thats it.

I actually agree on remove the set up time, just make it have to stop to fire. and drop the fuel, or don't remove setup time, but increase its pen increase to able to heavy damage or kill the Quad that is coming at it and didn't fall back.

one question though think flak HT have skill to detect and trac infantry, does it track infantry and fire at them while it got smoked. (i never used that skill)

-it still wound not be able to fire on the move,
-it would take one sec to taget the inf after stoping
-still the allied ht-s would be better cuz they can supress on the move

Maybe lower the setup time by a second but that's it really.

I'm with Daspoulos on this. Reduce set up to 1 sec and to 50 fuel. The rest it's a pretty decent AI.

I also don't think that it's UP. It's in a pretty decent state atm.
The reason it's not played very often is because it's not in the medic HQ that's the current meta because of the LeIG.

Eh no this unit is not used very often because its rather up and even when the leig was just plain rubbish it also wasn't used often.

a 4 second setup time and a single shotblocker can be fatal to this unit. it really needs a set-up time of 2 seconds.

now that usf ht has 360 degrees turning on its turret there is no point for okw one to wait for setup time, its already disadvantaged by having no mg to shoot and suppress on the move, less penetration and armour, why should it have setup time on top of it all? It could also use some kind health as 25% main gun destroyed crits are just murdering it like its nothing.

The set up is fine. The rotation on the gun is what pisses me off. It takes so long to rotate and can only do so when set up. I've been having to use attack ground to set it up how ai want so I can engage quicker but if you get caught from the wrong direction they can be right up in your grill before you can fire.

The American AA halftrack was a billion times stronger even when it had a posterior firing arc because it could rotate very quickly.

If the gun rotated quicker then it would be much stronger.

I think it deals less damage since the recent patch.

The Luchs also seems to deal less damage on the move.

Damn ninja changes :guyokay:

I have seen, and was able by myself, to get 50-80 kills with 251/17.
I havent see, and I wasnt able to get so many kills with Quad or AA HT.
Therefore I say that 251/17 cannot kite/chase but is way more deadly when used right.
Prove me that I'm wrong.

I think it would be really cool if it kept its long setup time, but increase its sight and range 5 or by 10 or so. It'd be a mobile area denial platform.
