Mines are your best bet. Typically Centars get used very aggressively to instant wipe units (at least until they get patched). Mines damage engine without the cost of a faust + gren squad. once its slow, its pretty much dead in the water and you have to capitalize on it.

If you still are really worried about it as Ostheer get a StuG or as OKW a jagdpanzer IV

Whatever you do don't put raketen in a building. Actually, don't put anything in a building when a centaur is around it in this patch. Like with all other medium vehicles a well-placed mine can make it dead in the water. Baiting centaur into a sneaky raketen + shreck flank works too. Shreks by themselves won't do it as the centaur will kill you first but if you flank it while it's getting away shreks will take it down pretty quickly.

4 raketens camoed and waiting strait up 1 shot it

pumas suck, jp4 won't die but has trouble killing one if theres an at gun, other than that you can go panther or p4 but that won't com out until after the centaur arrives so i recommend having 2 rakentens before the centaur gets on the field so you can camo shoot it and force it off

volk bleed very hard and struggle to catch it so don't rely on them

Have 3 Raketens by the 11 minute mark has been working well for me. It also helps if a croc is coming or something elese.

3 Raketens by 11 minute mark? Thats too much manpower being tied up in useless weapons IMO.

Most Brits will rush a centaur - just have 1 or 2 Schrekvolks and/or 1 Raketen on the field, and make sure you have a Jagdpanzer out in time. The scariest thing about the Centaur is if you are unprepared. Being prepared and nullifying it quickly will often mean GG. It usually hits around 11-12 minute mark depending on how much the Brit player skimped on fuel units.

When Centaur arrives at the 11 Minute mark i counter it with double Jagdtiger :megusta: no seriously a Jagdpanzer IV can do there a nice job and scales during the game vs other tanks :thumb:

I would add that jpzer and stug are total hardcounters because they are both faster than centaur. They are for centaur basically what 222 is to bren carrier, unless you hit a mine or there is serious at-suppot they win 100% of times.

But the centaur is an Anti air gun and tanks are for engaging ground targets. I'm so confused why I would need AT

I'm new to coh2 so what is 222? I think my main problem is normally timings and not being prepared in time. I guess I will have to try and have the jp4 for the 10 minute mark and keep it in the back until needed.

I find centaur has sometimes decimated my ratketen(i think I spelled that right) at guns before they were able to destroy it.

Yes, always against the brits. ZSo by the time their heavies hit zhe field you got a shiny vet 3 JP.

222 is ostheer scout car that has 20mm autocannon that makes it best counter against early vehicles such as bren carrier or m3 (russian scout car).

But back to the topic: its a good idea to have jp4 as soon as possible. Sometimes you can do without it but is a match against worthy opponent you will sure need it, and that is not only the case against brits! Against soviets or usf you can also use a double raketen or raketen + shrecks instead, but jp4 always is the hardest counter.

As for raketen or shreck vs centaur matchup: the problem is that while raketen is dedicated specialist AT unit it is also infantry based. The same goes for centaur: it is dedicated AI unit but also a tank. So who should win in the matchup of 2 units countering themselves? The one that is more expensive both cost and tech wise. That is exactly why centaur can kill even 2 raketens.

As for the centaur itself: its main weakness is low speed, you can use that fact for your advantage and hunt it with any medium tank you like.
