Balance Preview Update 09/03/2015

Added prioritize vehicle back to medium tanks
Removed extra modifesr on greandiers
Fixed issue with USF mine not using proper mine
Fixed CP requirements for rifleman figthing position
Fixed DSHK regained suppression and incremental accuracy values that it was given in previous update
Fixed 120 Mortar Cost back to 330
Fixed an issue with Tank Hunter Partisans not showing up to replace Irregulars.

Are the AT Partisans in the Soviet Reserves commander showing up for anyone else? They were supposedly fixed in this update, but I still don't see them. Maybe it's just me.

Not sure, but remember that none of the tooltips or portraits or anything get updated with the balance preview mods.

Not sure, but remember that none of the tooltips or portraits or anything get updated with the balance preview mods.

I thought that may have been the case and I somehow overlooked it, but they are completely absent.

They fixed pretty much everything else aside from sandbags though, so I'll just wait and see.

Is it me or are the PPSh changes either very weak or not in effect at all? I made a full PPSh Conscript fight a regular Conscript at range, and each time the result was PPSh wiped, Reg 0-1 Casualties. Definitely seems like the PPSh was unchanged.

Conscript PPSH

Increase their mid and far range profile so the weapon itself is not an immediate downgrade in overall dps.

  • Mid accuracy increased from 0.23 to 0.43
  • Far accuracy increased from 0.115 to 0.2

While that mid range buff is fairly significant, I don't think the long range buff will do much. It seems like PPSHs for cons have a closer curve to STG44s now, just a worse at mid.

I'll need to see it in action before I make any judgements though :P

Yeah, I was hoping their minimum DPS would at least be in-line with the Conscript Mosin, like every other ballistic weapon upgrade is.

Cons with mosin vet0 - 3.4/1.6/0.7 per model, new PPSH per model - 9.2/1.7/0.2, it's slightly better from mid range than rifle, but much better than it was - 9.2/0.9/0.1. There is no smg in the game, that better than the crappiest infantry rifle at long range.

There's also no ballistic upgrade (MG 42, BAR, G43, DP, etc) that reduces DPS. All of them increase DPS at all ranges, even if it's negligible, but you won't be hurting if your MG Grens are up close, or G43 Grens at range. Conscript PPSh is the black sheep, it doesn't have this benefit.

They did also increase their Recieved Accuracy Bonus at Vet 3 so at least they have a better chance of getting close enough to use the SMGs.

Yes, there are such upgrades in the game, that doesn't have downsideы, I have complicated feelings about them. I'm ok with upgrades that have drawbacks, but they should be much cheaper than no-brain upgrades and more potent in their specialization role. Personally I would like to see some close DPS buff for conscripts or even 6 PPSH, to make them deal 55.2/10.2/1.2, it will have DPS like full squad of asgrens with MP40 - 56/10/1.5, ans still be less than 4 STGs. Or give them give them extra ability with upgrade - grenade, focus fire, and etc.
