The Ostheer sniper isn't a broken unit. Both Soviets and US have no problem with him, so why start screaming to nerf the sniper now when Brits come out and can't deal with him?
That's a problem with the Brits, not the sniper. Give them some kind of better counter, don't make the Ostheer sniper useless.

dont now about UKS but double sniper if its in the opening is very bad.
Cuz its 720 MP so no protection for them.
I ussualy counter sniper
1. with my sniper (if lagresskay)
2. by pressuring his support (if all other maps)
1maxim + 1-2 heavy mortars do well vs HMGs/mortar support.
if he is supported by grens then guards or shocks into T70.
I saw that in good hands sniper is broken. Esp in late.
