Doctrinal Camo Ostheer

Between the periods 1cp-2cp, any Ostheer unit upgraded with doctrinal Camo will stay cloaked, in and out of cover, including movement. After testing, you can can walk into opponents bases during this period or walk by enemy squads feet away. Grenadiers also get the 50% damage bonus permanently unless continually fired upon. Between shots, they re-cloak in combat for a second, which is why they get the dmg bonus I believe.

After the 2cp mark, the camo functions as per normal. Except for MG42's, where the gun & unit indicator often remains visible. Also if you recrew a mortar with a squad of Grenadiers who have the camo upgrade at anytime during a game, the mortar also gets the cloak. This does not appear to affect other weapon teams.

I have reported this before, last November. Was never addressed, but back then, you had to take specific actions to recreate so it was difficult enough to stumble upon. Now, you just have buy the upgrade. Unless this was ninja changed and is working as intended (which I very much doubt), something has gone wrong.

Wow, great find. Surprising it took someone that long to notice, shows how great the commanders are with camo in them :P

They get the 50% dmg bonus (if it does not bug out) as normal past 2cp, so that is working as intended. Pretty clutch if you can pull it off consistently. I tried it vs Giap, it went nicht so gut :)

Allot or not much depending on the game in question and speed of casualties. 1st time I stumbled upon it this patch, was last week vs double soviet snipers, see replay here:

Vs T1/T2 play from soviets, it gives you a massive advantage. Vs everything else, well for the duration of one CP, your upgraded squads are invisible and do 50% extra damage unless focused upon in a fight. So effectively you'd dictate the game between CP1-CP2.

I believe faust's do the extra 50% dmg from cloak as well btw, not a bug, just an interesting note vs M3's and M20's.

L2Read.

I too am getting the sense from your first that post you're fine with it staying yet imply in the next post that you don't support keeping it.

For that never it's gonna happen situation:

1man pio (to decrease mp drain) hide inside enemy base. If no cover available, i guess mortar fire would do it. Wait till 12CP, surprise Stuka bomb inside base :P

Pretty sure you can only get ambush camo on MG42s, grens, and pgrens.

Aye, MG42/Grens & Pgrens. Camo normally is good for Pgrens because they do burst dmg and want to be up close, so the bonus dmg and camo ain't bad on them. Grens is a bit meh outside of the 1cp-2cp range bug and MG42 is bugged, camo does not always work on it :(
