Alex's Guide to using Booby Trap

Here's a small guide to the proper usage of this ability!
-It will not detonate when friendly infantry occupy the capture zone
-It detonates a split second after it the enemy squad enters the capture zone (IF a friendly unit is not present) meaning it will usually kill most of the squad leaving only 1 or 2 squad members alive.
-It will detonate when Soviet vehicles attempt to capture the point, but not really do much damage.
-If a enemy squad is on the capture zone and a friendly unit leaves the zone (thus making it available for capture) it will detonate directly on top of the enemy squad
Steps for getting maximum damage out of this ability:
1. Booby trap point with vet 2 JLI squad (basically a squad that can cloak with hold fire)
2. Cloak inside the circle after arming the trap
3. Wait for enemy units to enter capture zone
4. Leave zone with cloaked unit
5. The trap will detonate directly on top of the enemy unit/blob killing it or most of it.
6. Clean up remaining troops with JLI, whose snipe ability will help mop up damaged models
You can do this with non-cloaking squads but the enemy will be much more alert and thus less likely to fall pray to the ambush after the trap goes off!

Sweet idea to use the booty trap (pun intended) that way. A short question though: Is the booby trap a vet1 ability? (sry, to lazy to go ingame and check myself Kappa)
No, it comes standard for 60 munitions on Obers and 50 on JLI. Don't ask me why they don't cost the same lol.
One can also bait with Volks. The enemy shall proceed to bum rush them at which point you retreat or soft retreat leaving the bold adversaries to blow up.
Yeah obviously you can use whatever unit you want to "hold" the trap open for the enemy but Iv found when an enemy is engaged in combat they are less likely to be surprised by booby trap.

Good stuff but i rather have 30 muni mine than 50 muni bobby trap. They are overpriced.
Relic should make em usable on buildings, that way OKW would struggle against garrisons slightly less.

I would not say necessary kill, but even doing 75% of hp damage without killing models (until they are already damaged) would make player who garrisoned building consider instant retreat and seriously punish troops if they decide stay in that building.
And for all of those who thinks or might think it would be broken - lets not forget that demo cost 90muni and offers pretty much guaranteed squad wipes anywhere on the map, doubly so on choke point bridge maps like trois ponts.
