I wonder why they decided to make Max not look like Tom Hardy. I guess it's this whole idea that Max is a "legend of the wasteland" ... which frees the film-makers from following any set timeline.

My problem is that I like the way Tom Hardy looks (and even a young Mel Gibson) a helluva lot better than this Mad Max character model.

Yeah the game looks pretty cool! But I probably won't rush into buying it, if it turns out awesome I'll buy it on the next steam sale.

It probably costs too much to use the character likeness. I worked on a couple movie games and our artists actually had to make some of the characters look less like the actors so the publisher doesn't need to pay all the actors...

I did hear that the game was in quite close contact with the film team. Not that it was all done as one thing, but that they were apprised of what stuff the film was creating so they could incorporate elements of it. In that light, the decision not to copy the actor directly probably is deliberate.

I've been reading a few reviews of this, and some of the impressions have been fairly negative. But I also watched a few hours of a Let's Play, and it doesn't look that bad to me. Certainly the dialogue and voice acting of Max's buddy Chumbucket are very good IMO.

just bought it for 16$ lets see how good it is. The steam critics were pretty good (94% positive)
