Hey all!
Is it possible to implement a Karma/upvote system on this forum so we can +K constructive posters and we can upvote good posts, and also neg people who are trying to disrupt posts/conversations/walls?
Cheers!

It's a nice idea, but I'm not sure how we would implement it. We don't want COH2.ORG to be just like reddit. While reddit has great strength in that regard, it also has drawbacks when compared to the traditional forums format like ours. Non-linear sorting can be counterproductive and posts tend to devolve towards meme-type bits of cleverness that will attract upvotes. It's also almost impossible to get your post noticed on a popular sub-reddit if you are not already a popular poster.

ive seen these systems used in variety of ways and tbh i wouldn't be in support of this at all. much like payed mods concept on steam its shown instead of leading to better and greater mods it leads to the exact oposite a bunch of crappy easy to make skins because that is whats more profitable. remember googles system how it was suppose to improve everything and instead it caused dozens of big youtubeers to just stop using it all together. guess what comments were always upvoted?
the problem with these systems is how its suppose to work in a perfect world isn't unfortunatly how it will work in real life. (like several systems of govemrent i know

Yeah, well hopefully there may be a way of upvoting/negging posts, not necessarily sorting it so you do end up getting feedback as to what's a good post/what's a bad post/what posts should you ignore/what posts shouldn't be replied to or read etc.
Would be handy in a discussion (encourage ppl to keep posting good stuff or discourage ppl from saying unconstructive shit)

It could be just a cosmetic feature though. Just to look are your thoughts welcomed or not.

Why do you need a system? You have one already, it's called 'posting'. If someone posts something you like, congratulate them; if something you don't, fight them.
Upvotes 'n stuff make a kinda sense with a very large community, in which people need to pre-filter the stuff they actually engage with, because there is just so much. In a smaller community, it;s perfectly possible to do the old fashioned thing and (gasp!) read people posts and respond to them. Honestly.

I'd like to see a 'thank you' mechanic which allows users to thank a post (like a Facebook like). Under the post there is a list that says 'the following 15 users thanked the author for this post'. It shouldn't push the thread or something like that, it's just to find quality posts easier.

This
Outside all of the fanboying, trolling and flaming that occasionally happens on this forum (not too much tbh but its obvious when it happens) there are a lot of really good informed posts made here. This would be an awesome feature
