Are Snipers able to target individual models?

Are they?

Came up against a blobber on Ango who was using the Sturm Officer to make his blobs extra cheesey. I had a sniper at the time and had some success sniping the officer to force the whole blob to retreat. Is it possible to have a sniper 'Hold Fire' and manually target models within a squad or does it just auto-fire on whatever model is the closest?

Maybe it's 'cause the Axis players aren't a bunch of forum crybabies, and they keep their cool and fight the uphill battle, unlike some of their "allied" counterparts.

Katitof - I think he meant will he target the model you click.

MickeyC, I think he does. Try it out in a compstomp by clicking MG gunners and AT guys.

Yes, and sniper still targets random squad member.
Only instance where you target the model you want with right click is if that model is the only entity in range from that squad if they are lined and closest model otherwise.

If its an mg gunner you are trying to target, try and keep him on the edge of your range radius; making him the only available target.

~~I'm 99% sure that snipers will always go for the officer model first(assuming he's in range) in those "command" squads.~~

Arty officer, LT, cpt , major, strum officer, etc

EDIT: i lied,the sniper wont aim for the officers by default,but thanks to squad formations of command squads the officer model is always trying to be the "leading" model in the direction of travel,so technically that is the case
