how many con squads is enough?

About how many conscripts should i build in a game? They only seem effective against volks and panzergrenadiers when i outnumber them. However im concerned If i produce conscript squad I slow my tech. I usually make 3 About how many is the sweet spot? Does it depend on the map? Thanks

4-5 cons is the nice number but 6 is the ideal if you have a commander with ppsh upgrades.
4 cons is the right number if you're mixing some t1-t2 play in to your tactic or you're planning on making a few shock/guard squads, but 5 is the ideal if you're not gonna make too much call in inf

There is always place for another con squad in your army. Especially if you use Tank Hunter Tactics :D

hmmm....always build 6 with ppsh commander....and use them in teams of two on West,East and Mid...that resolves issues like being overpowered by your enemy or flanking an MG becomes easier

Generally you want 3-4 squads if you're building tech early, if you are delaying your own tech a bit then go for 4-5, 4-6 if your doctrine relies on Conscripts and then 5-6 if your doctrine has a weapon upgrade or revolves around Conscripts. Don't feel like this number must be consistent, if you lose Conscripts later on in the game (after ten minutes) then I recommend replacing with more elite infantry like Guards and Shock Troops.

Until T3 I have 3-4 and in mid game i have 4-5. But I ussualy play tunk hunter. With other commander I think they must like 3-4 squads in the begining and 2-3 in midgame. No more.
More than 5 is a waste even with TH.

Now my Rant/Salt post is over I usually like 3-4 cons, usually a bad idea to stay with them unless you've created a clear advantage with them on your opponent

I usually build 4 conscript squads. In my opinion the best number to have a decent early game (map control especially) and not too much manpower bleed on the one side. On the other side you can afford teching + new units like Guards, Shocks or stock ones like Maxims.

Of course you will have some late game cannon fodder :snfBarton: - provided you have not lost all of them until then. :snfPeter:

I would go for 4-5 based on your doctrine... if you aim for fast shocks/guards dont build 5...
more conscripts = higher reinforce costs/ mp bleed

If you have to many conscripts you cant afford techs/tanks which is kinda bad ;)
