According to Legends data, there are only two "divisions" in coh2.
Top 200 and rest of the scrubs with huge difference in skill between that top 200 and top 50 players.
There isn't enough players and especially good players to divide matchmaking, unless you want to wait forever for a game as top 200 or better.
Maybe it's 'cause the Axis players aren't a bunch of forum crybabies, and they keep their cool and fight the uphill battle, unlike some of their "allied" counterparts.

People that says that coh 2 leaderboards need a wipe completely have no idea what they are talking about either that or they mean something else.
A complete ELO reset would fuck up matchmkaing for weeks, low ranked would play vs top players and so forth, it wouldn't be fun for anybody.
This is especially true for a game like coh 2, where there is a low playerbase, not alot of people play on a daily basis.
If you want to get rid of people that sit in top 10 by playing 1 game a month, then simply buff ladder decay or make your elo become "hidden" after a set period of time, having you to play a game before you show up on the leaderboards again. Like IN CS GO.
Oh, and if you cant climb the ladder, L2P

Exactly, the system just need an more agressive ladder decay. On the other hand...
People who are on the +1000/+5000 just to want to "rank up". It would only mean that the standard would just to be adjusted.

And what do you think would happen? People will play extensive for first 3 mounts when brits come out, abusing whatever there would be to abuse and than ladders would be the same. Besides, if you badly want those top ranks and in fact you are a great player, just create fresh new account via family sharing and be in top 10 in 15 games.
I have no desire to lose my streaks or standings i worked hard on coz some people think wiping leaderboards would magically put them into top-of-whatever with nice winrates.

And how do you intend to wipe the players who are currently in top 200 that are inactive on the game? There are people who do not play for months but sit in top 200 due to excessive rape of OP strategies. It's only fair that people are tested fairly once the game receives an acceptable level of balance. That way people can rack up the streaks and ranks they are truly capable of.

Matchmaking is a bad reason because the playerbase is so small it doesn't really do much as it is now. Low players still get matched with high players because only a few people are automatching at a time. This ain't no Starcraft!

Life isn't fair. Periodic resets are the way to go anyway. There isn't much need though unless they commit to doing it on a regular basis (every 6 months or so) otherwise we'll just be having the same conversation again.

It would be nice to have some kind of seasons, so people actually try to get to the top. And then top players can get some kind of rewards, faceplates, skins, or just a badge in the profile.
