Would not it be a good idea to get some markers like arrows pointing at entrances/exits of ambient buildings?

No
This is a question of whether you can be bothered to learn your maps, the whereabouts of green cover, etc A skilled player who takes time to learn about what windows work on what side of the building, what doors are available etc should not be dumbed down.

I hate games that point everything out to its players with big, shiny markers. It makes me feel like the developers think i'm an idiot. Let me find things myself!

Modern console (and even pc games) have permanent on-screen instructions like "Press R to reload" even after playing the game for hundreds of hours. Please no. The more there's things to find, the more rewarding the experience is in my opinion.

I feel like it'd clutter up the UI too much, so unfortunately I'd have to say no.

Hey yeah, maybe units could leave trails of breadcrumbs so you always know where your base is...
