the role of the panzerwerfer (intended or not) is to clear out late game support weapons, particularly enemy vet 3 mortars as well as at gun walls. you can fire them on blobs, but personally i find blobs to be a non issue as ostheer since you have access to mg42s as well as grenadiers with lmgs.

however, ostheer does have a bit of trouble of taking out support weapon teams in the late game at range. they only thing they have regarding indirect fire until the werfer is the mortar. ostheer players have to rely on just brute forcing it with grens/armor and relying on mortars which may or may not kill support weapons in the time you need them to. in addition, soviet mortars can become a significant issue once they vet up since they can easily decrew ostheer mortars with precision strike. this can shift the indirect fire balance infavor of the soviet player, and usually they can keep it if theyre a half-decent player. the panzerwerfer offers an alternative where it can quickly clear out and significantly injure teams so that your infantry or armor can push up, or to clear out those dangerous vet 3 mortar teams without the risk of being hit by a precision strike.

as others have said, the panzerwerfer is a close/medium range artillery unit, but dont be just retarded and drive it straight to the front line or into enemy vision to get shot at. use your brain.

that being said, i do think that it is really disappointing to see it locked behind t4.

also to the guy who said counter barrage is the worst vet ability, youre quite wrong.

I can properly use Mgs, and the current iteration of the OH Mg42 is a poor performer - talking 1v1 here. That applies to both the Soviet and the US matchup. In fact I cannot recall a game since quite some time when that investment really paid for either myself or an opponent.

make the area of affect bigger, and make it fire more rockets. in this way, the pwerfer can be used to "soften up" a large area rather than what it does currently (softens up a very small area)

we also don't want it wiping everything in its barrage area imo.

This idea also helps differentiate the werfer from the kat since the werfer would be a tool to weaken the enemy prior to an attack and the kat is used to actually kill off or cause retreats in its attack area.

To me that sounds like it would just wipe more. Is the damage currently 80 or 160? If it was 80 I could get behind bigger AOE, but as of now the scatter is just overnerfed trash in my opinion, onloy effective if you get the panzerwerfer within 30-40 range of the area you want to hit. The cooldown also seriously needs to be reduced by 10-15 seconds.

Yeah, if you keep it ultra close.

It's a rocket artillery HT, why is it only effective at point blank range. It operates in the exact same range or lower than that of the 81-82mm Mortars.

It should have longer range, it's a blood artillery piece.

PW has less range but more scatter than kat,so it's far less accurate than a kat when firing at the same distance and that's just odd.

provide stats

It has a giant scatter and doesn't have as much rockets fired as it used to, meaning if you actually want to hit anything you need to fire it at point blank range.

Do you understand what "effective" means? yes it has the same range as the Katyusha but it's effective range is much, much smaller.

It just needs more micro. If you fire from "relatively" close range thus with lower scatter the barrage really hurts. Just don't forget to drive out again.

Will you stop spitting bullshit already for RNGods sake!
Every single day you are being corrected at least 10 times.

It always have shot ten rockets, it still does.
It have tad lower scatter then katy, you would know that if you took 30 seconds of looking at their stats.

It has not always shot 10 rockets. If you have ever used the Assault Officer you would see when you use his barrage ability it fires the original number of rockets.

And it's scatter is larger, but it also fire's the rockets in a higher arc as well as few ones. It is more effective in close range than the Katyusha, but that's the only range it's effective in.

Then of course you have the issue were it's in t4...

The Pwerf can only preform at very close range, meaning your having to use it at ranges you would normally only reserve for mortars.

"Effective range" and "possible range" are two very different things queen.
